This might be a Tuesday, but if you’re living in America, you’ve probably got the day off, so I’m going to assume that you’ve been spending every moment on our favorite pastime, video games. Today, we found out that some bug fixes are on the way for Overwatch 2, Lego has been issuing copyright takedown requests over unreleased Zelda sets, and Pokemon Go ran into trouble when too many people entered a public park. These are just our top stories and so as always, read on for the rest.

Lego has been sending people copyright takedown requests over videos of unreleased sets for Zelda and The Lord of the Rings. “Hey, Zelda Universe and anyone else who covered The Great Deku Tree Lego set, take down your videos ASAP,” the publication Nintendo Prime mentioned on Twitter. “Lego ain’t messing around, even though we aren’t the sources. Also, by doing this, they just confirmed it’s real. So, there you have it.”

Yet Another Fix For Overwatch 2’s Matchmaking Is On The Way

There’s apparently a fix for the matchmaking in Overwatch 2 on the way. The developer behind the game, Blizzard, is aware of the problem and is currently working on a patch. “I believe we’ll have updates next week,” Executive Producer Jared Neuss explained. “Some improvements were made, but a new round of changes are coming behind the scenes after the weekend.”

Pokemon Go Blames Event Issues On Too Many People Entering A Public Park

Niantic recently blamed the problems at a Pokemon Go event in Las Vegas, Nevada on too many people entering a public park. “Trainers, we appreciate the enthusiasm you showed today at Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas,” the company said on Twitter. “An additional 17,000 trainers without tickets joined us at the park, causing spotty connectivity throughout the day. This led to trainers disconnecting from raids, being unable to log in, and other issues with gameplay.” Pretty sure that entering a public park is perfectly legal, at least last I checked.

GameStop Store Manager Says Layoffs Have Begun, Stores Empty

GameStop has begun a string of layoffs, according to store manager and TikTok user Red. “Tons of GameStop stores have closed over the years and recently. Currently, there are stores going through closure in other cities or states, but the employees are being told to still push reservations for games coming out after the store will be closed. It’s a little disgusting on corporate’s part,” Red explained about the matter.

CWA Urges European Commission To Approve Microsoft And Activision Blizzard Merger

The Communications Workers of America have been urging the European Commission to approve the merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard in order to promote collective bargaining in the games industry. “When the Microsoft acquisition was announced, we studied the implications for labor markets and raised concerns about the potential for increased employer power over workers that could worsen labor monopsony, leading to lower wages and less bargaining power over working conditions,” CWA President Chris Shelton explained. “After we raised those concerns, we were able to enter a dialogue with Microsoft that resulted in an agreement to ensure the workers of Activision Blizzard have a clear path to collective bargaining if the merger is completed.” Remember, direct action gets the goods.
