Manage a colony. Mine an alien world. Care for your workers.
Gamyeon, a two-person indie studio based in Milan, Italy, have announced Terra-7, a sci-fi colony management sim in which success is measured as much by employee wellbeing as by revenue.
Set on the alien world of Terra-7, players grow a small pioneering outpost into a sprawling company. But they get there by keeping workers fed, sheltered, and sane, not by grinding them down.
Players hire employees to extract valuable alien minerals, process them into goods, and build increasingly complex production chains. They assign shifts, expand facilities, and balance efficiency with the needs of a growing workforce.
However, employees are not just “human resources”. They have needs like hunger and sleep, while overwork, alien flora, and the pressures of a growing business all increase stress.
While the player has ways to protect the employees from the alien flora, which reacts to the expanding colony, there’s no proper combat. Instead, at the end of each cycle, players must face a Performance Review. Five Company Investors each evaluate the company’s performance, each with their own principles and philosophy: one favors rapid expansion or research, another employee welfare, and some others might just be interested in dividends. To keep the colony running, players need to satisfy at least three every cycle or lose investor trust. Lose all trust, and it’s game over.

“We want to show that revenue and employee wellbeing can go hand in hand, and that it’s not necessary to have violence and conflict to create challenges,” said Emanuele, co-founder of Gamyeon. “Players will think more like managers than army generals. The alien world is a literal greenfield, rather than a battlefield: Terra-7 asks players to build a company from nothing, the same blank-slate challenge any startup founder faces.”
Key features
- Your employees come first — Employees must eat, sleep, and manage stress from overwork, alien flora attacks, and more.
- Answer to the Investors — Every cycle ends with a review from Company Investors, whose decisions can reward — or punish — how you’ve run things.
- Procedural biomes — Every map is procedurally generated, with multiple biomes planned for the full release.
- Easy to learn, hard to master — a clean UI and a limited set of Resources to keep the challenge in the decisions, not in parsing the screen.
Terra-7 is planned for release on Steam in late 2027. Wishlist it now on Steam
