Plenty of new PS Plus rewards have been added to the PlayStation Store in time for the weekend.
Not only can PlayStation fans download the latest PS4 free games but they can also enjoy some well-timed items with their subscription.
PS4 gamers with an active membership can pick up exclusive bundles from time to time for their favourite games.
This weekend has seen the release of some new deals which will no doubt prove useful to fans of H1Z1.
The Battle Royale game is free to download from the PlayStation Store and does not require an active PlayStation Plus membership to play.
However, if you do have one in August, you can also claim a special rewards bundle too.
And the good news is that all the items included in the August bundle are available to keep even if you cancel your PS Plus membership.
This is a little different from the free games made available each month by Sony, which only remain playable in your account while you have an active membership.
The H1Z1: Cobalt Assault PlayStation Plus Pack includes the Cobalt Torque and Cobalt Heavy Assault.
Both of the items are cosmetic in nature, meaning you won’t be getting an advantage over your fellow players by downloading it.
And this isn’t the only new bonus available this weekend for PS4 gamers.
The latest exclusive PS Plus perk for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been released this week, with the new Chuparosa Poncho available to download.
Sony revealed earlier in 2019 that they had secured a deal with Rockstar Games to continue supplying special items to their fans with a PS Plus account.
The poncho comes in a blue tint and will be that finishing touch if you’re trying to make your character look like Clint Eastwood.
The news was revealed by the official PlayStation Twitter who posted: ”Saddle up with a debonair new look PS Plus members — play Red Dead Online on PS4 by September 2 to receive the free blue-tinted Chuparosa Poncho”.
Away from the free rewards and fans can also check out the new deals made available during the PlayStation Store’s Summer Sale.
Sony says they have reached the midway point of PlayStation Store’s annual Summer Sale, and have now started adding new titles to the promotion.
This includes discounts on games like Metro Exodus, The Division 2 and Mortal Kombat 11 to sweeten the deal.
“Games like F1 2019 Anniversary Edition, The Crew 2, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and more are still going strong, so make sure to keep an eye out for gems you may have missed from the first round of discounts,” Sony adds in a new statement.
“PlayStation Video is also getting an update for those of you who just want to kick back and watch a good film.
“The discounts differ by region, so make sure to check out PlayStation Store to find out which titles are available in your country.”
The Summer Sale will continue until August 21 on the PS Store, with special PS Plus discounts also included.
This means an extra discount for subscribers, which usually adds around 10% off to specific deals.
Deals including PS Plus discounts can be found on games like Road Redemption, Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne.
