Pokemon Go Ex Raids are about to undergo a transformation, as a new Mythical Pocket Monster joins the lineup.
According to a new post by Pokemon Go developer Niantic, the DNA Pokemon Deoxys will be changing forms.
And the bad news is that Defense Forme Deoxys will have a much stronger defence, so beating it won’t be easy.
It all kicks off on March 25, so get your best team ready for the new Pokemon Go Ex Raids.
“The DNA Pokemon, Deoxys, has tested the strength of Trainers in EX Raids and has changed form again!” reads a Niantic post.
“Defense Forme Deoxys will be in EX Raids with stronger defenses than previously seen, so make sure your team is prepared. This Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon will be available to challenge beginning March 25.”
Pokemon Go developer Niantic has also posted some tips on how to qualify for the new Ex Raid.
“Are you new to EX Raids? You can become eligible to receive an EX Raid Pass when you win a Raid Battle at a qualifying Gym,” Niantic continues.
“You’ll be able to see which Gyms can host an EX Raid through a handy tag when you look at the Gym details. EX Raid Passes will give you the date and time when you’ll be able to challenge Defense Forme Deoxys, so mark your calendar and prepare your Pokemon for an epic battle!”
On the plus side, you’ll be able to invite friends to help you defeat Deoxys, but only if they’re an Ultra Friend or Best Friend.
the news comes just days after Niantic launched a new type of event in Pokemon Go.
The first Pokemon Go Legendary Lunch Hour event went live on March 13.
As part of the one hour event, Niantic will increased the number of raids taking place around the world.
Niantic will potentially hold more of these Legendary Lunch Hour events in the coming weeks.
That’s on top of the monthly Community Day event, which next takes place on March 23.
