Nintendo could unveil brand new Nintendo Switch models during today’s Direct conference.
For fans in the UK, the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct has a 5pm BST start time.
The show will be broadcast live on YouTube at 5pm, but you can watch it without leaving the page by clicking play on the video below.
The company is expected to show off Animal Crossing Switch at the event, not to mention Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4 and lots more.
And if the rumours are true, Nintendo could unveil two brand new Nintendo Switch models.
According to a post on the Wall Street Journal, one of the new models will be a portable-only handheld.
Launching at a cheaper price point, the handheld Switch is said to omit the vibration function and won’t come with detachable Joy-Cons.
It’s described as a follow-up to the Nintendo 3DS.
The post also suggests that the Nintendo Switch 2 – or Nintendo Switch Pro – will launch as a premium alternative to the regular Switch.
The upgraded console will reportedly come with an improved processor and a higher resolution touchscreen.
Hopefully it will launch with increased internal memory, because 32GB clearly isn’t enough.
It’s also worth tuning into the Direct if you’re a Bayonetta fan, as Nintendo talks more about the third game in the series.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Switch remake will also be shown, alongside the next wave of Smash Bros DLC characters.
Previous rumours suggested that Erdrick from Dragon Quest would join the roster alongside Ninja Gaiden’s Ryu Hayabusa, Minecraft’s Steve, and Doom’s Marine.
Another first-party game known to be in development is Metroid Prime 4, although it’s unclear if we’ll get any gameplay.
Nintendo has reportedly gone back to the drawing board with Metroid Prime 4, hiring Retro Studios to help with development.
Perhaps we’ll even see the rumoured Witcher 3 port, which would be a good fit for the Switch Pro.
