So today Game Geeks News are proud to bring you yet another amazing 2D gaming project currently running on kickstarter. Boom Brain Studio, Inc. in partnership with Multitude Tech Corp, is currently creating a game project entitled “Agimat and The World Beyond”.
Explore undiscovered caves, mystical island, and magical forests inspired by the Philippine modern world setting. Get rid of your fears to take an adventure on the forgotten and forbidden lands full of strange creatures.
Agimat and The World Beyond intend to launch on PC/MAC as well as on consoles and handheld consoles including Steam, Switch, PS, XBOX. Other platforms will follow soon after achieving the initial goal.
Agimat and The World Beyond is a 2D platformer-adventure game based on Philippine mythology: mystical folklores, mythical creatures, historic places are adapted. Stories of mythical beings abound in the oral tradition, immersed in the animist practices of early Filipinos – the belief that living and non-living things have a spirit, and are therefore part of both visible and invisible worlds.
These different mysterious entities are waiting to wreak havoc on all humanity. Imagine, living an adventure at the edge of reality in a gloomy world drowned by supernatural beliefs. Engage yourself in this wonderful yet terrifying place with lots of mythical creatures to encounter.
Agimat and The World Beyond has two meanings: Agimat refers to the weapons used by main characters, it also may be classified as elements, mystics, and power. The World Beyond is the haunted territory of mythical creatures. It was once a beautiful paradise, not until the first hero got blinded by power and privilege.
It starts with Bathala, who once build a happy and paradise-like place called Earth. He is known for being the most powerful that leads the balance of the human race and different creatures living on Earth and Atycia, a place of restless entities waiting to attack and cause destruction to humans. Aside from Bathala are Apolaki and Mayari, the guardian of peace of the two worlds.
As time passes, Bathala discovers that the cause of imbalance on Earth were the wicked creatures who sow terror on humans. He, then, put them back on Atycia, the place where he holds up those evils destroying the peace that he maintains. Every time he puts those creatures back, an eclipse was seen. But one day, Bathala gone missing, which causes the start of war of Apolaki and Mayari, battling for the role of next Bathala.
Except for Apolaki and Mayari, a creature named Naga joined the war thinking they might be the right leader. Humans are scared on what was happening, a boy named Rahu, stand up and tried to beat the three. Rahu trained himself and discovered an item that produced power to beat those monsters, later on he called it “Agimat”, he also learned the true form of the Agimat was to turn himself as a monster like Naga.
He thought of ways on how to defeat Naga, Apolaki and Mayari, then he realized that the source of power of those three were the moons. Rahu starts to eat one moon at a time, he’s determined to be the next hero protecting the Earth but as he ate the fifth moon, he starts to see things differently. Blinded by the powers he attained, his objective on protecting the Earth changed.
These brave teenagers face off the darkness of their past, a change of goals and lifestyle for the sake of humanity. Lukas and Lily unveil the power of their Agimat upon fighting mythical creatures on their journey to the world of Atycia.
Get rid of your fears to take an adventure on the forgotten and forbidden lands full of strange creatures. The world of Atycia is vast and has huge coverage, it consists of three regions. Each map has a monster with different types and properties: a variety of demons, gigantic beasts, and innocent creatures.
These islands were connected to each other, every mission/quest achieved will stage the player to the following map. Hidden maps can be also found through completing a mission.
Agimat and the World Beyond starts last year of August, after almost 6 months, the team have seen the progress of the project. A series of challenging process, came up for new ideas and suggestions before the finalization of characters, concepts and many more.
The team’s goal is to create memorable experiences and gain more knowledge of building games. They have years of experience in both developing and designing mobile games and other applications. The team comprises long-time friends and colleagues, and they couldn’t be happier to be working on this together.

Agimat and the World Beyond, a dream project that took over a year to completely be in reality. The team spent a lot of time exploring different gaming ideas and concepts, test several prototypes to find out what’s best and what’s wasn’t. They saw Kickstarter as a chance to make Agimat and the World Beyond even greater than they originally thought it could be.
The team have a long way to go, still need to work on lots of aspects of the game, level design, content, polishing and more. This campaign will give their project the opportunity to be known to many, and allowing them to make the game continuously.
As ambitions have expanded, they need more resources to bring Agimat and the World Beyond back to its track. With your support and funding efforts, you will help in shaping the project and speed up its production, resulting in more motivation and launching the final version of this game sooner than later. After reaching their fund goal, this will be mostly used on game development, as they make the best possible outcome of Agimat and the World Beyond. The team want you to be involved in the process.
Risks and challenges:
Of course, there are risks and challenges, this includes going through endless searches for recruiting friends and online marketers onto the team. The wasted period of time that results in loss of members due to either burnout or lack of funds. Another potential issue may arise in publicizing and advertising, but they hope that word of mouth and some ads may encourage a following for this project. And any influencers who wish to communicate with the team are welcome to do so. The rest is about iterating those and achieving new milestones.
Despite all the challenges and uncertainties ahead, they are confident that they would be able to deliver a full game in the end. The project lead has years of experience in developing and releasing games and applications. Making a game is difficult to plan, with so many obstacles to overcome that you don’t see coming.
