If you’re playing Apex Legends right now (I imagine most are), and you’ve seen Chappie, it’s probably already occurred to you how good a fit the police droid would be for Respawn’s battle royale.
Well, it hasn’t gone unnoticed by their respective creators, either.
In a tweet, Chappie director Neill Blomkamp said “I am down yes” to the suggestion the robot with feelings might appear in Apex Legends.
Lotta people asking me this. I am down yes https://t.co/Njtt5askmW

That drew a matter-of-fact response from Respawn boss Vince Zampella, who said: “I am also down.”
I am also down.

Sounds promising!
Blomkamp is no stranger to the world of video games, of course. The District 9 director made a short Halo film, and, more recently, made a short live action teaser film for BioWare’s Anthem. Both Anthem and Apex Legends are published by EA, so you’d imagine the “my people should speak to your people” conversation would be relatively seamless.
So, all that’s left to the imagination is how Chappie would work in Apex Legends. As long as he’s got his Hustler neck chain, he’ll be okay.
