Call of Duty: Warzone is officially bringing Verdansk back in spring 2025.
When Call of Duty: Warzone first launched in 2020, it did so with its original BR map, Verdansk. Launching at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Call of Duty: Warzone‘s Verdansk map became a hugely populated battleground, and it is to this day what many associate with the free-to-play game. As is the case with most BR maps, Verdansk changed over time, with various updates made to add new areas, shake-up its geometry, and more.
Some of the Verdansk map updates were more appreciated than others. Eventually, Verdansk was removed entirely from Call of Duty: Warzone and replaced with completely different maps. Call of Duty fans have been calling for Activision to bring Verdansk back for years, and now their call has finally been answered.
It was confirmed at the latest Call of Duty NEXT event that Verdansk is coming back to Call of Duty: Warzone in spring 2025. This matches up with previous leaks and rumors about Verdansk’s return, but this is the first official confirmation that it’s coming back to the BR. Additional details on what to expect from the returning Verdansk are not available at the time of this writing, but more information should come to light in the months ahead.
When is Call of Duty: Warzone Bringing Back Verdansk?
- Verdansk is coming back at an undetermined date in spring 2025
Verdansk was filled with many iconic Points of Interest, with Call of Duty: Warzone fans having fond memories of dropping on the Hospital roof to fight for supplies or sniping at far-off enemies from the airport. Presumably, the returning Verdansk will have these memorable locations intact, but again, more details will come at a later date.
There are plenty of exciting Call of Duty: Warzone updates for fans to look forward to in the more immediate future while they wait for Verdansk to make its long-awaited comeback. Those that enjoy the smaller-scale Warzone maps will be happy to know that the new Area 99 map fits the bill, and better yet, it works as a homage to Nuketown, which is one of the franchise’s most popular traditional multiplayer maps.
Those that are uninterested in Area 99 or any of the currently available Warzone maps may be interested to know that they don’t have to wait until 2025 to revisit Verdansk. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile features Verdansk and is available right now, though it will obviously, not be the exact same experience that players are used to on consoles. Still, it’s better than nothing, and may very well help tide some Call of Duty fans over while they wait for Verdansk to return in spring 2025.
