Xbox’s 2022 Spring Sale features major deals on games from the Xbox and Xbox 360 era that are backwards compatible with modern Xbox systems.
Not only does April signal the start of Spring, but it’s also the season when publishers will offer huge discounts and deals on a variety of video games. Sony and Nintendo have already started their Spring Sales, with various deals on third-party and first-party games. Nintendo, for example, is offering a variety of deals on the eShop for SEGA and Atlus-developed titles for both the Switch and 3DS consoles. Microsoft has now started its Xbox Spring Sale as well, letting fans save on almost 800 different games through its digital storefront.
Plenty of games are on sale through this Xbox sale, giving gamers the chance to save money on titles that were released on the system, which encompass AAA hits, indie games, and more. Discounts on these titles range from 20% to even 80% off, slashing prices on games like Ori and the Will of the Wisps, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and even the recently released port of former PlayStation exclusive Godfall: Ultimate Edition. There is also a section of games that were released during the original Xbox and Xbox 360 eras that are not only discounted but also backwards compatible with modern Xbox systems.
The biggest deals from this sale see two titles being discounted at 85% off, both of them originally released on the Xbox 360. These two are the original Saints Row as well as The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, with Saints Row 2 even seeing a similar 80% price cut. The acclaimed third-person shooter TimeSplitters 2 and NetherRealm Studios’ DC Comics fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us are both 70% off.
Time to check if that game you’ve been waiting to go on sale is on sale.

There’s also a few Xbox 360 licensed video games that are currently on sale, such as Toy Story 3 having a 50% cut. Further, there are a lot of LEGO Xbox games that are currently on sale, covering LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, the first two LEGO Indiana Jones games, and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, all of which are currently running with 75% off.
These deals and more will be available up until April 21, though any Deals with Gold will still be running after this Xbox sale is over. It should be noted that some of the deals for certain backwards compatible games are not found on the modern Xbox Store and can only be bought via the old Xbox 360 Marketplace. Regardless, if there’s a title that a fan has been eyeing from the backwards compatible list that they haven’t gotten yet, they might want to consider taking advantage of this sale.
