The next major update for Red Dead Redemption 2 will be for the game’s multiplayer mode on PS4 and Xbox One.
But new rumours this week suggest that it might not just be Online players who get a big DLC expansion in the future.
According to new reports out this week, Rockstar Games are working on new single-player content for RDR2.
It would come as a massive surprise for many gamers who haven’t heard of any single-player plans from Rockstar Games.
It would be doubly surprising when you take into account that GTA 5 was meant to receive new content covering the three main characters, only for it to be cancelled in favour of online content.
The same is expected to happen with Red Dead Online, although this spin-off mode hasn’t proven anywhere near as popular with fans.
The new rumours stem from online forums, so they need to be taken with a big pinch of salt.
These can be the best ways to start rumours, only for them to be revealed as hoaxes later on.
The report, via ComicBook, states that this new content will feature Arthur Morgan and Aliens, and will be released in 2020.
No set date has been provided but it appears it will be early in the fiscal cycle.
There is also mention of a Red Dead Redemption remake being in the works for launch in early 2021.
There is currently no way of telling if this is a true leak or not and there is plenty of evidence to suggest that Rockstar Games are not particularly interested in single-player DLC.
There is more information being found by data miners to support the idea that a PC port of Red Dead Redemption 2 is in the works.
So can there really be so many projects being worked on at the same time, while also preparing a big Red Dead Online Summer expansion?
It looks like fans will have to wait and see what is finally released on PS4, Xbox One and perhaps PC too.
A release date for the Red Dead Online summer update hasn’t been revealed yet but it looks like it new details on it will be revealed soon.
With the big GTA 5 Casino expansion arriving later this week, it will leave the door open for the big RDRO Summer expansion to take the spotlight.
Fans will be hoping for a news update in August, ahead of a full release later next month.
When it comes to the latest updates made in Red Dead Online, Rockstar Games is now offering a free Horse Care Package, plus discounts on Stable Space, Horses and more.
“Your horse’s unwavering loyalty deserves its reward,” a message from Rockstar Games explains.
“This week, all players will receive a Horse Care Package – which includes Horse Reviver, a useful curative compound that you can keep handy in your Satchel in the unwanted event of your steed becoming seriously injured or incapacitated, 2 Horse Medicine that refill your horse’s health with a gold outer bar and 2 Horse Stimulants that grant a gold outer bar to your horse’s Stamina for those long rides through the open country, plus 5 Oatcakes, 5 Hay and 5 Carrots, to make sure your hooved companion is well fed.”
