Sony will announce the new PS Plus February 2019 free PS4 games lineup soon.

However, this announcement isn’t expected to be made this week.

The countdown until the official PlayStation Plus reveal for next month looks set for Wednesday, January 30.

Sony usually makes their big PS Plus reveal on the last Wednesday of the month, making next week the most likely time for the big news.

Until then, there have been several updates connected to the popular PlayStation Plus subscription service.

This includes another free games bonus for January that’s available right now.

As an added reward for having an active PS Plus account, Sony has made it possible to download a free PSVR trial.

Firewall Zero Hour, the PlayStation VR shooter, will be available to play for free from January 18 until January 20.

“We can’t wait to welcome so many new PS VR players to the fray!” reads a Sony blog post.

“The Firewall Zero Hour: Weekend Trial Demo will include all the pulse-pounding modes of the full game (Single Player Training – Player vs. AI, Multiplayer Training – Co-op vs AI, and Multiplayer Contracts – PVP Players vs Players), as well as the entire roster of maps in the game, including the newly added map, Containment!”

As a bonus, any progress made during the PS Plus trial will carry over to the full game.

And this isn’t the only free demo available to try out right now on PlayStation VR.

Eden Tomorrow, in development with Soulpix, has a free trial available in the PlayStation Store.

This can be downloaded at any time and will require around 2GB in space to install on PS4.

If you’re not a PS Plus member and fancy giving it a try, Sony is also offering some heavy discounts on subscriptions.

Available to lapsed members only, Sony has knocked £5 off the 3-month PlayStation Plus subscription, which is down from £20 to £15.

Elsewhere, a 12-month PS Plus subscription has been reduced from £50 to £37.50. That’s a saving of 25%.

The offer is only available until January 24 on PS3, PS4 and PS4 Pro.

A new open beta weekend is also being hosted right now that includes some top characters and stages from the upcoming Jump Force launch.

These will be available for a limited range of time and is being used as a way for Bandai Namco to test servers and matchmaking systems.

Players won’t have all the characters to try out during the Jump Force open beta, which is set to run in sessions.

17 playable characters will be available to try out from January 18 to January 20.

And the best news for PS4 gamers is that an active PlayStation Plus subscription will not be required.

The final session is currently underway so interested fans should jump in and download before time is up.
