A simple drinking game with one goal only: to get you so drunk that you won’t have to spend a penny when you get to the club.
Game Geeks News is proud to bring you another great gaming project currently running on Kickstarter. ‘Pre Drinks‘ is a simple card drinking game where the only goal is to get as drunk as possible in order to save money on buying drinks later on in the night.
The cards are shuffled and put in the middle of all of the players. A Player draws a card first and reads out the instruction and then the forfeit and performs the action (if applicable). The next player then does the same thing. The cycle repeats until there are no cards left. Players can choose to play again if they wish to get more drunk.
The cards are designed in a way in which the game can be replayed over and over again with the same people and the players will not get bored (if they even remember how to be bored).
What is “pre-drinking”?
Pregaming (also known as pre-drinking or pre-loading) is the process of getting drunk prior to going out socializing, typically done by college students and young adults in a manner as cost-efficient as possible, with hard liquor and cheap beer consumed while in a group.
There are no win conditions, each card has a different action and a forfeit to encourage drinking. The cards are all very different and are still subject to change, as there is a lot of tweaking to do. For example, See 3 different card examples above:
- Card Name: “A Donation” – When Drawn: You must go in a circle and all players must reveal how much money is in their main bank account. If anyone refuses, they take a shot – Forfeit: Whoever has the most money in their bank account must buy the other players a round of drinks later on in the night. If they refuse, they must take two shots.
- Card Name: “The Photographer” – When Drawn: You must use the camera on your phone and point it in a single direction for 3 seconds (count out loud) – Forfeit: If any part of a player is in the photo when you take it, then they must take a shot. But if all players are in the photo, then you must do a shot.
- Card Name: “Boozedusa” – When Drawn: No one is allowed to make eye contact with you – Ends when someone finishes their drink Forfeit: If someone makes eye contact with you they must take 5 sips.
There will be 64+ cards (The number of cards is subject to change, but it will be more than 64).
This is the current design of the cards. However, all of this may change as the producers of the game are planning on running lots of tests with groups of people who go out every weekend in order to gain some valuable feedback.
So, Why Pre Drinks?
Many of us go out almost over the weekend with friends and we all often find ourselves spending an absurd amount of money in clubs and bars (because of the ridiculous prices in the UK) because of this, Max and the team decided to start “Pre Drinking” at home rather than in a pub or bar as it is much cheaper. While doing this they would play lots of drinking games to encourage them to drink. However, these games do not encourage drinking at a pace. So…..Max decided to use her knowledge of drinking games to create the perfect game that will get you as drunk as possible in as little amount of time, while still allowing you to have fun. (instead of the cards just being “drink now”, “down your drink”, “Do a shot”, etc.).
Their aim is to distribute Pre Drinks on Amazon and eBay. However, if sales go well, they will launch their very own website. Their end goal is for it to be in the stores. This is where you come in. Max and the team need our help to bring this to life.
