Microsoft held its Developer Direct event recently. Some game titles expected to be released in 2023 made it to the event, but unfortunately, nothing was said about Starfield.

Starfield: The Story of “The Settled Systems”

In a far-off corner of the galaxy, beyond our own Solar System, lies a region known as “The Settled Systems”. This area, approximately 50 light-years from Earth, is home to multiple colonies, factions, and civilizations, all vying for power and control.

Around the year 2310, the two largest and most powerful factions in The Settled Systems, the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective, engaged in a brutal conflict known as the Colony War. This war lasted for several years and claimed countless lives, devastating entire planets and leaving deep scars on the fabric of society.

Twenty years have now passed since the end of the Colony War. But despite the signing of a peace treaty, the major factions in The Settled Systems are still wary of one another, with tensions always simmering just below the surface.

Enter the player character, a member of Constellation, an organization of space explorers who venture into the unknown depths of space in search of knowledge and new discoveries. As the player, you take on the role of this customizable character, tasked with exploring The Settled Systems and uncovering their secrets.

The Settled Systems is a vast and diverse place, filled with dangerous creatures, mysterious artifacts, and ancient technologies. As you journey from planet to planet, you’ll encounter various factions, each with its own agendas and motivations. You’ll make alliances, forge new friendships, and engage in intense battles, all while uncovering the truth behind the Colony War and the larger mysteries of The Settled Systems.

Starfield Raises Expectation with Gameplay Reveal

Starfield is a journey like no other, where you have the freedom to explore the Galaxy and shape your own destiny. The game can be played in either first-or third-person perspectives and promises to deliver a truly immersive and captivating experience judging by the Bethesda Softworks gameplay reveal released seven months ago on YouTube with over 4 million views.

We are so sure that the Starfield storyline has got you all excited, but as interesting and alluring as the game may seem, it is unfortunate that we may not get to play it any time soon because its release date might have once again been extended.

Starfield Launch Date may have been Extended

The release date of Starfield may be delayed again, this is according to the Defining Duke podcast’s host and YouTuber, MrMattyPlays. He claims to have heard from a source he trusts quite a bit that the game is in line for another delay and may no longer be released in the first half of 2023, but instead targeting a late Summer launch. Although this possible extension has not been officially denied or confirmed by either Xbox or Bethesda.

Starfield was not Featured at Microsoft Developer Direct Event

In addition, on January 25 of this year, Microsoft held its latest Developer Direct event. Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, Redfall, and The Elder Scrolls Online all made it to the event, but unfortunately, Starfield was not featured.

This could further indicate that the game is still in the development stage and is not yet ready to be showcased to the public.

Despite these rumors, there’s still a chance that the game will be released in the first half of the year, as Bethesda has recently reiterated that it’s still on track for a 2023 launch.

As fans eagerly wait for a concrete release date to be announced. Let us hope that Bethesda Softworks comes up with an answer sooner rather than later. But until then, we will keep snooping around for the latest information.
