One Minecraft player decides to build the city of Kvatch from Oblivion, complete with the Chapel of Akatosh, Kvatch Arena, and Kvatch Castle.
Released way back in 2006, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion has been around for a while. However, that has not stopped players from continuing to remake iconic locations from the title. Recently, one Oblivion fan decided to recreate one of these classic spots in another popular game.
In a post on Reddit, a user known as Miksu23 shared a collection of screenshots from a building project completed in Minecraft. According to the creator, they had decided to build the city of Kvatch from Oblivion, the first city visited in the game. As the pictures suggested, it was expansive, containing many different buildings. One highlight of the design was a large wall protecting the city from outside threats.
In addition to the perimeter barrier, the buildings found within the city limits were equally impressive. The Chapel of Akatosh was located near the middle of the build and featured stone walls with green shingling. The design also included a spire that rose high above the rest of the buildings in the city. In addition, the iconic Coliseum and castle were located in separate corners of the build, with the latter even having a moat surrounding it. Several more houses were scattered around the grounds, along with some well-positioned trees to put a finishing touch on the design.
Besides showing pictures of the large-scale build, Miksu23 provided several details behind how they created the city. According to the Reddit user, this build was based on the Kvatch Rebuilt mod, which showed the town before it was destroyed. In addition, the creator revealed that they had put a lot of time into the project. They had started the project at the end of November and had accumulated roughly 40-50 hours in build time. Furthermore, this was only one of several more Oblivion settlements created by Miksu23. Beyond the city of Kvatch, they also built Chorrol and planned to make Leyawiin next.
This massive city of Kvatch from Oblivion caught the attention of gamers on Reddit. Since posting the build, numerous fans commented on the stunning design of the doomed city. Specifically, some liked the beautiful recreation of the Chapel of Akatosh. In addition, others were glad to see Oblivion continue to get some recognition over a decade after release.
It’s exciting to see impressive structures from other video games made in Minecraft. Besides this detailed build of Kvatch, gamers have made other incredible creations based on The Elder Scrolls series. For example, one talented player constructed the College of Winterhold from Skyrim. It will be interesting to see what other amazing builds are made in the coming days from the Minecraft community.
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is available on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
