The creator of No Man’s Sky teases the release of the game’s next content update with yet another mysterious post.
Fans of No Man’s Sky have previously been told to expect a particularly big year ahead for the game, and creator Sean Murray has already begun teasing the release of the title’s first content drop of 2024 with another mysterious post on social media. While the game has enjoyed dozens of free major updates since its controversial release in 2016, No Man’s Sky saw another big year in 2023 with the Interceptor update as well as a full set of new expeditions for players to embark on.
No Man’s Sky‘s plethora of significant and completely free updates have evolved the game far beyond its original vision in many ways, and has cemented it as one of the most significant redemption stories in gaming history. Even after 7 years of consistent support, the game’s developers at Hello Games are showing no signs of stopping the flow of additions to No Man’s Sky. Some fans were worried that the announcement of Light No Fire, Hello Games’ next major project, meant that work on No Man’s Sky was coming to an end, but founder and developer Sean Murray has assured the community that No Man’s Sky will continue to receive new content over the coming years.
With Murray himself claiming that 2024 will be one of the biggest years for No Man’s Sky so far, it seems like the game’s first update of the year is already close at hand. A recent tweet from Sean Murray’s personal Twitter account has begun stirring up hype within the community, with the mysterious post consisting of just a single character – the omega symbol. Veteran No Man’s Sky fans will know that Murray typically shares similar cryptic posts to tease the themes of upcoming updates, and such posts almost always suggest that the release of a new update is imminent.

The release of No Man’s Sky‘s next major update in the very near future seems all the more likely when considering that the game’s internal branch was updated just days ago, suggesting that a new version of the game is in the works and will soon be pushed out to the public. While not confirmed, rumors circulating around the game’s community point towards the next update including a new expedition for No Man’s Sky as well.
What to Expect From No Man’s Sky in 2024

In addition to the reveal of Light No Fire, Hello Games’ presentation at The Game Awards back in December also included a short video celebrating 7 years of No Man’s Sky, complete with a tease of what content can be expected for the game throughout the year ahead. While it’s not yet certain what features the game’s next update might bring, fans have already gotten a look at new space station designs which are expected to be implemented into the game at some point this year.
