owners have been delivered some great games news for 2019.

The Switch is coming up to its two-year birthday, and as it approaches that milestone the hit hybrid console is on a role.

The Nintendo Switch is coming off a great holiday season where the system sold like hot cakes.

Latest sales figures show the Switch has sold almost 15million units so far for this financial year.

Ninty previously had a sales target of 20million Switch units sold for the current fiscal year, which has now been revised to 17million.

Despite this, the Switch has undoubtedly been selling like hot cakes and the House of Mario will surely want to keep this momentum going.

And they’ve just made an announcement that will surely get fans excited.

In its recently released financial report, Nintendo has reconfirmed release windows for a number of titles.

And Nintendo Switch fans have plenty of great games to look forward to this year.

Arguably, one of the most eye-catching games coming this year is the Pokemon Gen 8 title.

All that’s known about this title is that it’s coming in late 2019, with a reveal event for the new Pokemon game likely coming later this year.

In other Nintendo Switch news, this week two big patches have been released for the system.

Nintendo Switch update 7.0.0 was launched which brought with it new user icons and support for additional languages.

Switch update 7.0.0 also launched the same week that the Super Smash Bros Ultimate 2.0.0 patch was released.

The headline new feature is that Piranha Plant joins the Smash character roster.

Anybody who purchases the game before the end of the month will receive the Piranha Plant fighter for free.

Nintendo has reminded fans to collect their My Nintendo Gold Points now, so it’s worth checking the online FAQ if you’re not sure how to redeem your character.

An in-game notification reads: “In order to take advantage of your early purchase bonus and download the Piranha Plant fighter (planned release: Feb 2019), you must collect your My Nintendo Gold Points for the retail version by 31/01/2019.

“If you have the downloadable version the Gold Points are collected automatically.”
