If you’re wondering what the difference is between the Switch Lite and the standard Switch, it’s simple. The Switch Lite, unlike it’s more expensive older brother, is designed entirely for handheld gaming. It doesn’t connect to your TV, and the controllers on each side are non-detachable. This means any game that requires motion controls will require a spare pair of controllers to play, but for the most part, the difference is the size of the device.

As you’d imagine, the Switch Lite is a little smaller, and as a result, its screen is 5.5-inches – slightly smaller than the original model’s 6.2-inch screen.

Whichever model you go for, you’ll find a lot to love. The Switch game library is huge, offering multiplayer mayhem in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, or Splatoon 2, while also catering to solo gamers with the incredible Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey and Astral Chain. There’s even Pokemon Sword and Shield still to come.

And don’t forget, also launching on Friday is The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening – check out our pre-order guide here for both the game and the Amiibo figurine.
