MW2 AR “hits like a truck” after silent buff in MW3 Season 1 Reloaded

A Warzone expert believes one of MW2’s most popular weapons has gotten a “silent” buff in Season 1 Reloaded and now “hits like a truck” as a result.

The Season 1 Reloaded for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone has prompted a few big shifts in the metas for both the battle royale and multiplayer modes.

In the mid-season update, the devs decided to tackle some annoyingly strong weapons with nerfs to the M13B, MTZ 762, and a host of LMGs. The M13B being nerfed signaled that the devs wouldn’t be shy in adjusting weapons from Modern Warfare 2 either, which had been a worry for some players given they’d felt a bit “unusable” compared to their MW3 counterparts.

Rumors have risen about a potential The Walking Dead crossover coming to MW3!

Well, it looks like they’ve also buffed one of Modern Warfare 2’s most popular weapons in Warzone, but decided to let it go under the radar.

Best STB 556 loadout for Warzone in MW3 Season 1 Reloaded

That’s according to Warzone experts Metaphor, who highlighted that the STB 556 may have been hit with a “silent” buff in the recent update.

“I honestly only thought the M13 and ISO 9mm were the only good MW2 guns, however, this gun is hitting like a truck,” he said, noting that the community has been a buzz about the apparent hidden buff to the STB’s power. “This is actually a great gun.”

The YouTuber’s build is pretty standard for an assault rifle too as it utilizes the VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor, Bruen Heavy Support underbarrel, and MK.3 Reflector optic.

  • Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
  • Barrel: FTAC FB20
  • Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support
  • Optic: MK.3 Reflector
  • Magazine: 42 Round mag

The STB was buffed in the initial Season 1 Reloaded update, with the assault rifle’s damage ranges being increased across the board.

It wasn’t noted if the damage values had actually been increased, which is what players believe has changed. We won’t know if anything has actually changed unless the devs nerf the STB in the future, so, it might be a waiting game.
