There are plenty of reasons to jump into Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Season 3, including a selection of new and returning maps.
Call of Duty fans are counting down to the start of Season 3 in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. According to Activision, Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 has an April 3 release date and a 5pm BST UK launch time for PS4, PS5, Xbox consoles and PC. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic new season, featuring a ton of new gameplay tweaks, maps, modes, rewards and lots more. For Modern Warfare 3 fans, the highlight is the release of six new, remastered and repurposed Core maps throughout the course of the season. This includes 6 Star, Emergency, Growhouse and Tanked on April 3, followed by Grime and Checkpoint as part of the mid-season update, which is likely to drop in May.
The brand new 6 Star battlefield is described as a medium-sized map set in a luxury Dubai skyscraper resort.
Emergency is another brand new map, albeit on a smaller scale to 6 Star. The new map is set in an Arizonan medical facility, “nestled on the summit of a remote mountain range” and above a small town. Fans should expect a fast-paced experience with plenty of kills.
Growhouse is a remastered version of the Sphere map launched during Season 3 of Call of Duty Vanguard. Interestingly, however, Growhouse is no longer an experimental test site, but more of a “backwoods narcotics den nestled in remote foothills”.
Finally, Tanked is a repurposed Warzone map developed by Beenox. It takes place in the Vondel Zoo, specifically in the main Aquarium structure within the point of interest.
Elsewhere, Activision has announced plans to add four new game modes to Modern Warfare 3, although only one will be available at launch.
Classic game mode Capture the Flag will be playable on April 3, followed by the release of classic party mode One in the Chamber, which will drop in the launch window.
Elsewhere, Minefield and Escort will be playable as part of the mid-season update in May.

Activision explains more: “Close combat was never so quick and painful, with the Gladiator rivalling the Karambit for supreme mobility, handling, and damage potential.
“Cut straight to the bone with haste and ease, but ensure you’re close enough to make your lethal stabs count.”
Finally, fans will be able to purchase the Season 3 Battle Pass, which contains a host of in-game rewards. This includes operators such as Snoop Dogg and Makarov, as well as various cosmetic upgrades for weapons and more.
