Game Geeks News is proud to bring you another great gaming project coming soon to Kickstarter. Brian Gibson of Synthetic Lab Games LLC is a Chicago based independent developer currently working on Mission Critical, a 2D Metroidvania.
Mission Critical is a 2D Metroidvania platformer aimed to release on all major platforms. At its core, it is a spiritual successor of the likes of Super Metroid and a bit of Megaman. Mixing the design of the popular genre’s exploration, combat, and immersive storytelling along with today’s technology are all combined to create an awesome and memorable game.
The story follows Cybernetic Droid – Zero Four (CD-04), as he embarks on a mission to find the whereabouts of his missing brothers after they launched a counteroffensive against an intimidating alien race. While on his mission, CD-04 will:
Devastate enemies with his blaster
Explore the depths of the world Tilos by jumping, sliding, dashing and vaulting through the terrain and hazards.
Obtain clues to his brothers’ whereabouts by finding the encrypted breadcrumbs they leave behind for CD-04.
Find upgrades and modifications to improve his survival and chances to complete his mission.
Encounter dangerous wildlife and aliens
Discover hidden paths and areas
Solve puzzles through the use of abilities
Fight a range of subtle to intense mini-bosses and bosses.
