The only travel case you’ll ever need for your PlayStation 5 and all its accessories!.
Game Geeks News are proud to bring you another amazing project currently running on Kickstarter. Eduard Campo is a software engineer from Barcelona. He was one of the lucky few that got the PlayStation 5 on launch day, and the first thing he wanted was to be able to move his newest console and accessories around. Browsing for PlayStation 5 carrying cases, he figured he would need at least 2 bags to carry everything he needed. That’s when he had the idea to design a case himself.
As you can see below, you don’t need to have all the official accessories to get the most out of the case. Here are some examples:
You may still carry PS4 controllers in the DualSense’s place given that the PS5 still allows you to use them on PS4 games.
The Pulse 3d Wireless Headset is so bulky that you can fit any other pair of headphones as a replacement.
3rd party DualSense chargers are all roughly the same size as Sony’s, so don’t worry if you have an unofficial charger.
Eduard has been working together with his friend Maria because of her product design background. They first drew some mockups to see if they could fit every available PS5 accessory together with the console in a single case. Their first idea was to get a case that could accommodate the console and at least 4 controllers but quickly started to think bigger. If they could fit all the official PS5 accessories, the console and its base, and some games and cables… you would only ever need one case to move it all!.
After receiving the first sample from the factory, Eduard started using the case to move his PS5 and accessories every weekend. This has been an important exercise to notice all the improvement opportunities for the case’s design. A second prototyping iteration was key to launch this campaign and deliver the perfect PlayStation 5 carrying case, and so they will share the latest prototyping process design during the Kickstarter campaign.
Here are some details about the design:
All the inserts are made of high-quality foam. This ensures your console and accessories will never scratch against each other.
There are 4 velcro straps to keep everything in place when travelling.
The case is both waterproof and shockproof.
Thick rubber zipper pull tabs for simple operation.
An overhead strap will be included on every bag to hang it over your shoulder.
Risks and challenges:
*SHIPPING TIMELINE*
Eduard and Maria have estimated a November 2021 delivery for a volume of approximately 2000 units. This way if they encounter any issues they still have some extra time to deliver before the holidays.
*FINAL PRODUCT DISCLAIMER*
The final product may not look exactly the same as seen in the pictures, given that these were made with the first prototype. The newest design will have some minor improvements that will be disclosed throughout the campaign.
The PlayStation 5 travel case by ePort should outlast your console’s lifetime, and you can even use it for long-term storage eventually whenever you buy the next PlayStation console!. Their travel case’s exterior is made out of 50% recycled polyester, and the exterior packaging for shipping will be all made of recycled cardboard.
