The Epic Dark Age Pixel Art Video Game
So today Game Geeks News are proud to bring you yet another amazing project currently running on kickstarter. Jorge Crepaldi, an architect very interested in anthropology, mythology and underground culture is hoping to raise funds to bring the video game Spirit Crisis to life. Contributions will go towards reaching the stretch goals, supporting Jorge and keeping him focused on finishing the game on time, as well as compensating the crew for their precious help. Part of the money will go towards taxes, production costs and solving any technical difficulties that may appear.
Spirit Crisis is a 2D side-scroll adventure video game and an epic dark tale about an innocent guy who lives in a savage world during a mad time in which the Inquisition often deal with cases of heresy, witchcraft, demonic possession, vampirism and even sanctification.
What’s good or bad? You will have to choose through unusual events. Would you be able to solve the inner moral conflict?
Meet and deal with hilarious and terrifying characters who will introduce you to a legendary XV century experience.

Inspired by legendary historical characters, anthropology and mythology of Europe, the gamer will interact within an approached, fantastic and parodic context of the XV century.
Video games such as INSIDE, CASTLEVANIA, INDIGO PROPHECY, MANIAC MANSION and THE ETERNAL CASTLE were very important references in the development of the conceptual ideas and mechanics.
All the characters and tiles were drawn pixel by pixel, and animated frame by frame.
2D side-scroll adventure with elements of action, survival horror, puzzles and RPG.
Walk, run, jump, climb, push and pull objects, interact, talk, work, research, think and decide the path of your game with a complete new old-fashioned moral mental system.
15 chapters to discover amazing landscapes, ruins and dungeons through the town and the coast. A wild environment adapted to the adventure narrative with five unexpected crazy bosses.
SYNOPSIS:
SUMMER, 1498: A remote village on the coast of Italy is going through a dark age. A wave of misery hit the people with repression. Taxes and confiscations are paid to maintain a paranoid institution, the Holy Inquisition.
A commission had been sent to the town due to allegations of desecration of holy places and public disorder that occurred during the feast of 1st. of May of the previous year. Since the establishment of the holy office, the midwife has been judged and executed, another woman is a fugitive, and for a month the oldest of the fishermen has been imprisoned accused of heresy, necromancy and conspiracy against the Mother Church.
My name is Francesco Endymion, and here I am in the temple with my family and the rest of the villagers paying attention to the threatening speech against those who dare to go beyond the Lord’s way. NOW IT ALL BEGINS.

By the moment of releasing this campaign, I have been able to solve all the necessary mechanics that allow me to guarantee the development of the rest of the game without further difficulties. Also, the narrative of the story is complete, so it will have a sense from beginning to end. All the animations for the players, the NPCs, and objects are 90% ready. The scenes are 20 % ready, and the rest is defined on handmade drawings, in the process of being digitalized.
Risks and challenges:
Jorge believes the biggest challenge of this campaign is the sound effects, it’s a dark matter to him. Yet, he’s working on it and relies on the technical support needed to deliver a proper result. As stretched goals are fulfilled, the sound effects will be in charge of a professional that will bring guaranteed quality.
The risk is Jorge is currently looking for a job, so in the future, may need to divide his time, which could interfere somehow with the delivery schedule. However, he is fully committed to giving the rewards in the stipulated times.
Jorge and his team will be keeping everyone updated, and notify backers of all the advances of the production through Kickstarter, Twitter and Instagram.
