So today Game Geeks News are proud to bring you yet another amazing project currently running on kickstarter. Gloom Studios are a group of new developers looking to make a great and thrilling zombie fps experience and need your help to bring this refreshing take on the Zombie Apocalypse to life. Rule of Three is a survival shooter that will take you to a massive world in a time of great upheaval and strife as an unstoppable plague tares the world apart. Travel through the cities, countryside, and towns of Green Valley across the massive world as you battle hordes of the undead, and avoid becoming infected with the plague yourself while also dealing with other online players & Faction NPC’s who want to kill you and take your hard-earned loot!.

Since they are going to self-publish the game and are asking for the help of the community, Gloom Studios will give something back and develop the game with the community.

What does that mean? In about 6-8 months, Gloom Studios will release an early build of the game where you will be able to test the core mechanics of the game. They will start with the basic mechanics and will constantly update this build with additional features as they progress with the development (objectives, new weapons, co-op, features, combat). This is the access to the Early Alpha version of the game, and it will be available to (Wanderer) Tier and Down.

When the game is in the Beta stage, Gloom Studios will release the full game beta as Early Access on Steam (or any other platform where it’s going to be possible) for all backers Down from the (Tester) Tier.

Our backers can influence the development, help improve the game and give the team feedback about the game mechanics. Your feedback is invaluable in making sure Gloom Studios deliver a great game. Pledges start from as little as $5 but if you wish to pledge a little more can get you VIP access to forums and Discord, BETA access and also the full game on it’s release.

Risks and challenges:
Rule of Three is an ambitious third-person Shooter with complex, layered mechanisms and components. There are definitely complications to creating a balanced visceral Online MMOFPS focused system, and there are many risks involved in the development of the game. Gloom Studios have tried to minimize those risks by selecting proven technology and assembling a strong team with proven experience and ambition with experience creating games similar in their nature.

The biggest risk for the team would be falling behind schedule and releasing the game later than planned. They’ve constructed a carefully laid-out strategy to prevent such an outcome, complete with a detailed vision of the game that focuses on design scale-ability and clearly defined milestones to achieve, etc.

But video games require a great deal of R&D – especially ones that want to innovate – and no one can predict all potential possibilities or problems during such a process. Production delays, unfortunately, happen all too often in our industry but having shipped games very similar to Rule of Three and also having a prototype build in Unreal Engine 4, they are fully aware of possible pitfalls and how to address them.

Their most resource-intensive features are combat and multiplayer networking support. Performance and network reliability are top priorities for Gloom Studios, so overextending the scope of the game is something they are very cautious about.

The good thing for Gloom Studio is that they have a very strong game engine support team and a community of helpful developers undertaking projects of their own. EPIC Games have made an extraordinary effort to document and streamline their tools and features as much as possible, as well as provide near-instant solutions to any problems. This greatly mitigates any unknown grey areas they may experience. In the potential event, they are forced by such time constraints to remove some features from the game in order to meet their release date and stay on-budget, they would most likely be able to include those features through a later patch or further campaigns of the game which would be released for free.
