Outmanoeuvre your rivals and build the longest river in this fun, fast, family board game.
Game Geeks News is proud to bring you another amazing Kickstarter project. Ian Tarter, Northbrook, IL, a Board game enthusiast, artificial intelligence wannabe, has been making simple, tactical games that are easy to learn. Rainbow River is a tile collection game where the board shrinks dynamically every turn. Your job is simple: construct the best map of the true form of the Rainbow River.
Look for your favoured tiles and try not to get blocked out by competing explorers. Have you got what it takes to become the greatest cartographer?
In Rainbow River, players compete to get the most resources from an ever-changing board, with a unique setup for each game. Players play as explorers trying to piece together a cohesive map of the mystical rainbow river and fighting over map scraps.
It’s easy to learn!
It’s highly replayable!
It plays quickly!
Create a unique river in each game!.
Rule Summary:
Setup: Put the tiles in a 7×7 grid with a hole in the middle. Give each player an equal number of preference cards. They choose one, put it in front of them, and discard the rest. Each player places their pawns in clockwise, then counterclockwise order.
Gameplay: In clockwise order, players move one of their pawns 2x in an adjacent direction, then place each tile. Their pawn moved off into their river, but only if it creates a continuous, flowing river. Players repeat until no pawn can move.
Scoring: Players score 1 point for each tile in their river, plus 1-2 point(s) for each tile in their River mentioned in their Preference Card. The highest scorer wins!.

The campaign has already hit its target goal, but there are a few stretched goals Ian would still like to reach. Pledges start from as little as $10 but by pledging a little more, you can get your very own copy of Rainbow River along with all funding goals unlocked during the campaign. The Early Bird pledge of just $19, which includes a copy of the board game is limited to just 25 copies, so be sure to check out this kickstarter now if you would like to grab the board game in time for Christmas.
