So today Game Geeks News are proud to bring you yet another amazing project currently running on kickstarter. Ecrya Games are a small indie game company from Leipzig, Germany, consisting of Kira, Kevin and Jessica. They have been working on Journey to Ecrya since 2018 and started out with the project during university. It began as a student assignment, but they fell in love with the game and its world. Over the past few years, Kira, Kevin and Jessica developed and tested it so much before launching a campaign on kickstarter to bring this amazing board game to life.
Discover a dangerous fantasy world in this light-hearted role-playing game. Choose a hero and accompany them on their adventure. The role of the game master is passed from player to player, so everyone can experience being a storyteller and create the journey together.
In Journey to Ecrya you choose one of eight Heroes to embark on your journey towards the ruin city of Ecrya. On your way up the mountain, you encounter dangerous beasts and explore ancient ruins.
Equip your hero with different items to survive. Weave powerful spells and use provisions to brave the wilds and their dangers. Be the first player to reach the long-forgotten city, defeat the menacing final boss that lurks there and win the game!.
After three years of development, they could not be more excited to get the game out into the world. But they still have some work ahead, which includes:
Design & development: March 2018 – August 2021
The Launch of Kickstarter: May – June 2021
Sampling & Production: September 2021 – May 2022
Delivery of Journey to Ecrya & rewards: June 2022
The current stage of development is to make the project as transparent as possible. The design of the game might be subject to minor changes, should the need for them arise. Right now, their key tasks are working on card illustrations, final touches on the card effects, and fine-tuning the rule book. Once they reach certain stretch goals, the timeline might change slightly. This may also affect the shipping date.
Please note that some rewards will take more time to be ready for shipping since they have to create additional art for them. The team will do their best to ensure swift and high-quality delivery of all the rewards, and communicate any changes in their timeline.
As first-time publishers, a Kickstarter campaign comes with its own challenges, but do have a lot of help from some amazing partners – Indie Game Alliance, BackerKit, Meijia Manufacturing, and Funagain Logistics. Journey to Ecrya isn’t just a game – it’s a part of us. Therefore, the team will put all of their effort and heart into making the printed game as close to their vision as they can.
