HAMSTER GAME is a top-down rogue-like shooter that’s inspired by being the deranged lovechild of Binding of Isaac and Hotline Miami. A game that pays homage to everything the 90’s gaming has brought to us: Doom, pizza, heavy metal, violence and gore, and so on. A game which pays as well homage to those classic games from Newgrounds from back in 2010 and so. It is meant to be a game for those hardcore gamers who want to throw away their keyboards and mice in rage against their screens, just for the modern-day, or just waste time in wherever place to have a fun time. This game will make you go HARD.
And this game isn’t about hamsters.
It features a top of 9 levels, every 2 with a different theme. The story involves the Earth being overrun by demons who have fully, somehow, integrated into human society. There are demon accountants, demon housewives, demon pit-bulls… even demon hot dog stands.
But most importantly, and worst of all: the demons are secretly planning a demonic invasion against humanity.
Of course, the Earth Defense Forces caught news of this secret, and they sent YOU, a U.S Marine, to fight the demon-kind in the Union Demon-kind Organization (U.D.O) and eliminate all the hostiles within. Leave no survivors.
You must also eliminate their head of operations: El Diablo, a dwarf demon lord that at first glance might look inoffensive, but he’ll be packing danger in his pockets and arms. Aside from that, God knows what else the demons got in store for you.
The game features a packing of old-fashioned shooter action, you’ll be gunning down any demons that you instantly face. You must survive THREE TIMES in the gameplay to defeat Hell for good. But there will be a catch: you die, you start all over again. You lose your progress and begin from scratch. Don’t worry: you can try again all you want.

Plus: I’m including 2-player deathmatch online multi-player in this game. Maybe this implies certain limitations towards technical stuff, but think of it like this: it’s like a deadly game of Poker, where skill and luck will determine your victory. These multi-player matches are thought to be short-burst duels of 1 minute or less or so, where you could hook up with a friend and duel him for a short while. Ideal for placing bets or just killing a bit of time.
HAMSTER GAME is the perfect time-waster.

This game is NOT about hamsters.
Or is it?
Because introducing in this game there’s a new sidekick that will follow you around during the course of this game:
Saving these little critters will vary on the SANITY METER as you go rescuing them, which will determine the random demon spawns across the gameplay. They can gradually take away your sanity or give it to you, and there’s also PLENTY of hamster power ups out there to collect as well. With extra bonus stats.
Here’s a sample:

The plans regarding the game are to have a full release on Steam for starters. Maybe build up some hype, get some sales, but most importantly, the developer wants to create a game that will stand the test of time. And a good start at that.
JMAA have had an incredible interest in making games from a good long time ago, and especially making good, fun games that people will enjoy. With this, they will step into the industry. And after they release this game, if all goes well, they plan to make JMAA Games and JMAA TV a serious business where they can get a foothold on entrepreneurship. Hopefully, the game will be enjoyed by more people out there who are just interested into something that will entertain them for a good while.
As we speak, the game is about 90-95% done at the moment, there is still some things out there that need to be fixed, stuff that needs to be tweaked, things to be polished… but the game right now is decently playable. Mostly on the single-player where you’ll be able to do a full run of the 9 levels without mostly any problems.
The planned release date is by late 2020 or so. JMAA hope the game is fully complete by that time and with all the bugs possible fixed and all the features possible finished. Hopefully, the game will have a good reception by the gaming community for once.
Since the game is low-budget enough and it’s nearly done, all they need is $3500 for hiring the soundtrack composer and another $100 for Steamworks.
The soundtrack will be most likely composed by the man who composed most of the Killing Floor 2 soundtrack, Sigurd Jøhnk-Jensen. He’s got some banger tracks. They are also considering Andrew Hulshult for this one, but to be honest: he’s too busy with too many projects so Andrew relegated me to Sigurd instead. And he doesn’t disappoint:
JMAA want to be sure the soundtrack of this game will be a good old banger for people to keep head banging on. They give props to Sigurd here especially for the Killing Floor 2 stuff, because this is the kind of stuff that JMAA would need. And don’t forget about Steamworks, the $100 necessary to first publish games on Steam.
The rest of the funds raised will keep improving the state of the game further. Maybe you’ll see a console or mobile release for this game, or pro voice actors maybe, whatever. Every additional cent of this Kickstarter will go to make this game experience better.
As a final word, JMAA would like to thank backers for their support with this Kickstarter. This is (really) their first game, and a really good one at that. JMAA have already been receiving some feedback from some peers regarding the game and they think it’s a superb one. So they promise this game will be entertaining enough and fun. This game will be a real headbanger. Thank you all.
