It’s been a wild ride for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 these past few days, and Game Geeks News has learned that hundreds of people are playing the game ahead of its official release.
When the leaks first began, it was assumed that only a few select people had access, but as word has spread, that list of people has grown into the hundreds. People are accessing Black Ops 6 via jailbroken PlayStation 4 consoles (all leaked footage is from the PlayStation 4), with access to the game seemingly being the BETA version that the public will get to play at the end of August.
One Discord server sent to us yesterday had over one hundred people playing when the screenshot was taken before the server was taken offline to fix bugs; it is understood to have been caused by the new BETA update. That issue has since been fixed, and people are playing the game again.
What’s particularly interesting is that people are seemingly not just playing against bots, either; instead, there are full lobbies of people playing against one another.
It remains to be seen whether Activision will or can stop people from playing Black Ops 6, but for now, the company has resorted to DMCA takedowns of the content posted online.
One developer told me about the situation, “It really sucks to see our big reveal ruined like this, we were all excited to show it off in a big and special way.” Black Ops 6 multiplayer is set to be officially revealed at the end of August in a CODNext event, which will be prior to the Black Ops 6 BETA.
