GTA 6 release date news today includes what could be a major blow for PS4 and Xbox One fans.
GTA 6 hasn’t been officially announced yet but fans are already looking forward to the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.
And in recent weeks there has been plenty of speculation surrounding GTA 6 and the release date of the new title from Rockstar Games.
Some big claims about GTA 6 emerged in an anonymous post on Pastebin allegedly penned by a third-party developer.
This developer claimed to have knowledge of Sony’s plans for the PS5, and they claimed GTA 6 would be a timed exclusive for the console.
Sony allegedly paid “big money” to secure GTA 6 as an exclusive for one month on the PS5.
These claims come from a December 2018 Pastebin post that was only unearthed recently.
However, following hot on the heels of that news another post has appeared on Pastebin allegedly revealing more details about GTA 6.
The recent post on Pastebin has now been deleted, but Dexerto managed to capture more information about it before it was taken offline.
And the GTA 6 post makes the big claim that the next Grand Theft Auto game won’t be coming to the PS4 due to “memory restrictions”.
If that’s the case then GTA 6 could also be skipping the Xbox One and solely focusing on next-gen consoles.
The alleged leaker also wrote: “In the title which will make you a kind of a drug lord, you will start as a small time guy in Liberty City doing odd chores and small-time thefts and eventually work your way to Vice City, where you will join a famous gang.
“You will be tasked to look after business in Liberty City until you are brought back to Vice City and soon become the drug lord.”
The post was penned by an anonymous user, and as with all rumours its best to take them with a pinch of salt until official confirmation.
It also claimed that GTA 6 would be set in Liberty City and Vice City, which ties into the other Pastebin post and previous rumours.
Here’s what the most recent ‘leak’ said in full: “GTA 6 is going to feature multiple big cities which players can travel across.
“In the title which will make you a kind of a drug lord. You will start as a small time guy in Liberty City doing odd chores and small-time thefts and eventually work your way to Vice City where you will join a famous gang.
“You will be tasked to look after business in Liberty City until you are brought back to Vice City and soon become the drug lord.
“Rockstar Games has an idea about when they want to release the game but the corporates want to analyse the sales of PS5 and the Xbox 2.
“This game can’t come [out] for PS4 because of memory restrictions. We have 2 major cities along with a vast stretch of highways and Blaine County like countrysides in the middle of it all.
“There will also be some kind of timed era between the missions with flashbacks.
“Certain shops will sell different types of items in different eras. RDR2 type stranger dialogues will be implemented.
“There are big plans in online and with major content like newer towns.
“They are working closely with Microsoft and Sony on cloud gaming which will help them enable online to be a continuous process.”
