Microsoft is set to release new free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers to download and play this week.
Tomorrow, October 16, will see the official refresh of the Games with Gold October lineup.
Currently, Xbox One fans can download and play Tembo the Badass Elephant and We Were Here.
These make up the current Games with Gold lineup but tomorrow will see We Were Here removed, alongside the current Backwards Compatibility option.
Each month sees Microsoft offer two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games.
The older titles are available for a shorter amount of time and replace each other on the 16th of every month.
In October, fans will see Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge replace Disney’s Bolt until October 31.
Meanwhile, on Xbox One, We Were Here will be replaced with Friday the 13th: The Game.
This will be available to claim and download until November 16 and is set to go live very soon.
Microsoft doesn’t appear to have a set time for their new content to go live and it also depends on what region you are based.
But by the end of October 16, everyone should have access to Friday the 13th on Xbox One.
Friday the 13th: The Game
Celebrate the spooky month of October with the horror title, Friday the 13th: The Game. Stalk, ambush and strike fear in the hearts of many as you take control of the legendary Jason Voorhees. Or try to survive the night as the Camp Crystal Lake counsellors by either hiding as best you can or bringing the fight directly to Jason. Be wary, the woods are his and you never know when or where Jason will strike!
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge
Take part in intense and brutal action in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge. The legendary ninja, Ryu Hayabusa returns, but with a deadly curse threatening to destroy him. Take control of him or his fellow ninja: Ayane, Kasumi or Momiji, as the battles are sharpened, and the difficulty raised to deliver the ultimate action game experience.
All of the free games made available through Games with Gold requires an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.
And it should be noted that your digital library containing these titles will lose access to them after you have cancelled your subscription.
The good news is that even with a new console being released next year, most of these titles should remain available in your account.
This is due to Microsoft’s commitment to maintaining backwards compatibility, regardless of what new hardware they release.
The next Games with Gold free games aren’t expected to be announced until nearer the end of October.
