Fortnite early patch notes for content update 7.40 have been revealed.
Fortnite Battle Royale fans are set to get content update 7.40 – likely the final update for season 7 – this week.
Fortnite content update 7.40 follows hot on the heels of patch 7.40 which was released last Thursday.
That major Fortnite update brought with it the Infantry Rifle, the Overtime challenges launch and the release of an updated Stat Tracker.
And it looks like the next release from Epic Games – Fortnite content update 7.40 – will bring with it one highly anticipated feature.
Fortnite fans have faced a long wait for the Driftboard, which originally was meant to release before Christmas.
However, it was subjected to a surprise delay as Epic wanted to make “some final quality of life changes”.
And following weeks of radio silence about the Driftboard, the Fortnite makers have finally confirmed it is coming in season 7.
The in-game message in Fortnite Battle Royale says the Fortnite Driftboard is “coming soon”.
It says: “Stylin’ and Profilin’.
“Mobility. Style. Flare. Put your own spin on the game with the new limited time Driftboard!”
While no release date was given, it’s likely the Fortnite Driftboard will arrive with Fortnite content update 7.40.
A release window for the latest Fortnite content update hasn’t been revealed yet.
But judging by past releases it’s likely to arrive at 1pm UK time on Tuesday February 19.
The Fortnite Driftboard could also launch alongside a Driftboard LTM in Battle Royale.
As reported in a post online by FortniteIntel, the recent Fortnite update 7.40 contains assets for a Driftin’ Limited Time Mode.
It’s possible that the Fortnite Driftboard will be exclusive to this playlist.
The description for the Fortnite Driftboard LTM says: “Driftin’.
“Land near a Red Supply Drop, grab a Driftboard and some weapons, meet up with your team and race to eliminate the enemies.
“Last team standing wins!”
It also looks like the Fortnite Driftboard will be the focus of one of the upcoming Fortnite Overtime challenges.
A leaked list of Fortnite Overtime challenges revealed one task which will see players jump onto the Driftboard.
This was revealed in the leaked Overtime challenge ‘play matches of Driftin’ with a friend (Driftboard LTM)’.
More Fortnite Overtime challenges are also set to arrive on the day that content update 7.40 is likely to drop.
Four brand new Overtime challenges will unlock on Tuesday February 19 in Fortnite Battle Royale.
According to the in-game timer, these Fortnite Battle Royale challenges should become available at 2pm UK time.
This is 6am pacific time and 9am eastern time.
