The Fortnite live event kicks off on Saturday with an in-game concert featuring the world premiere of a brand new Juice WRLD track, as well as a new Snoop Dogg single.
This season of Fortnite has paid homage to a handful of iconic rappers, including Juice WRLD who has his own landmark on the map that’s been expanding in the runup to the Fortnite live event this weekend.
Epic Games has been ramping up Fortnite live events in recent seasons, ever since The Big Bang event brought us back from the dry spell. This season of the game has been a short one, in the vein of last year’s Fortnite OG, taking us back to the days of Chapter 2 with Fortnite Remix, which included its own Remix Battle Pass. But now, the throwback chapter is coming to an end this weekend and it’s being sent off in style with Fortnite Remix: The Finale.
The in-game concert is set to feature the debut of Snoop Dogg’s new single – Another Part Of Me (feat. Sting) – as well as the exclusive world premiere of the new Juice WRLD track, Empty Your Pockets. Meanwhile, players watched the new WRLD Point Landmark expand over the course of the week, and had the chance to claim some free cosmetics – although if you didn’t get your free Juice WRLD skin, and you followed all of the necessary steps to get it, know that Epic is looking into reports of players who haven’t received it in their lockers.
The Fortnite live event countdown has already begun in-game, which we’ve seen with the more recent events, like the Prelude Fortnite live event countdown at the start of this season, and the Doctor Doom mini event countdown. However, unlike those two instances, where the timer was on the map in-game, the Fortnite live event countdown for Remix: The Finale is visible in the lobby and we’ve embedded a countdown for you below as well as more details on the Fortnite live event, including how long it’ll run for.
Fortnite live event countdown and how long it’ll last
You can watch the Fortnite live event countdown in-game. but failing that, there are a ton of content creators livestreaming the timer, like this particularly enterprising one who has four livestreams on go. We’ve embedded one of them below so you can keep an eye on the Fortnite live event countdown even if you’re away from your PC or console.
Bear in mind that the Fortnite live event countdown isn’t counting down to the actual live event start time. Instead, the clock will hit zero at 6.20pm GMT / 1.20pm EST / 10.20am PST on Saturday, November 30 which is the time it’ll be open for players to join and when Epic recommends you hop on to avoid getting bogged down in queues. That gives you 40 minutes before the Fortnite live event starts at 7pm GMT / 2pm EST / 11am PST.
The event will last for around 20 minutes, according to established leaker @Hypex, with 15 minutes for the concert itself and five minutes for the build up, and music video ending. We know that there are plans for at least one encore performance the same day, but Epic hasn’t shared the exact start time.
Fortnite live event encore start times
Looking to past (and more recent) Fortnite live events and concerts, I doubt we’ll see as many showings as the Arianda Grande or Travis Scott in-game concerts; instead, we’ll likely see the encore set follow the same pattern as the Eminem Big Bang event which had the initial concert followed by two additional shows.
In this instance, Epic Games has only promised one Fortnite live encore show (barrring any technical hiccups), and using last year’s times as the basis for our guess for this year’s Fortnite live event, we think this will take place at 10pm GMT / 5pm EST / 2pm PST. That’s because the second of the two encore shows last year was at 11pm EST / 8pm PST which was 4am GMT of the next morning – with Epic officially confirming these times to Forbes last year.
Chapter 6 downtime will already be in full swing by then, so that’s why we’re picking the earlier of the two. Of course, the Fortnite live event encore shows may not follow this pattern, but we’ll update you as soon as there’s official details. We did reach out to Epic, but the company was unable to share any official times for the encore performances of the Fortnite live event this weekend.
