Fortnite: How to Recover a Data Drive from Daily Rubble

One of Fortnite’s latest quests tasks players with recovering a Data Drive from Daily Rubble, and this guide shows players where to go.

A new week of Fortnite has arrived, and that means another batch of quests for players to complete in exchange for large chunks of XP. One of these quests requires players to recover a Data Drive from Daily Rubble. With the spot not being a named location, nor very obvious on the map, Fortnite players may have a difficult time tracking it down if they don’t know where to look.

The popular free-to-play battle royale title from Epic Games is now in its second month of Chapter 3 Season 2. The current season has seen an island-wide battle erupt between Dr. Slone and the Imagined Order, or IO, and The Seven’s Resistance forces. With each side’s territory demarcated with red and blue lines across the map, the Resistance has slowly been recovering ground, correlating to this particular quest.

How to Recover a Data Drive from Daily Rubble in Fortnite

As part of Fortnite’s ongoing Resistance questline, players must find and recover a Data Drive from Daily Rubble. As part of Fortnite‘s 20.10 update patch, a fully-fledged battle between IO and Resistance forces began occurring at Daily Bugle. After about a week or so, players were successful in defeating the enemy, leading the next patch to crash the looming blimp into the ocean just southeast of its original location. A hulking wreck jutting out of the water, players will want to head to the tail-end of the IO airship, where they will find the Data Drive waiting.

Simply press the interact button, and the quest is complete. However, this is the second phase of the Resistance quest, and players must first establish a device uplink at a nearby location. It is also the second Resistance quest of Week 5. The first requires players to establish a device uplink followed by planting a series of wiretaps, all of which can be done just west of Coney Crossroads. However, Coney Crossroads is the latest battle site between the IO and Resistance after the game’s most recent update, which also adds an all-new weapon called the Ranger Shotgun.

In addition to the new wave of regular season and Resistance quests, Fortnite has finally begun its Prowler Quests. With the timed Battle Pass-exclusive skin for the season, players now have another set of quests to unlock the Marvel villain’s various pieces of content. Each quest rewards players with a different cosmetic, and players who complete at least three Prowler Quests will unlock the Prowler skin. Completing all seven rewards players with the Slash and Smash Emote.

While the Prowler is a fairly obscure choice for a crossover cosmetic, it still belongs to Marvel, arguably the title’s most common collaborator. However, while some crossovers in the past have been unexpected, an upcoming one may take the cake when it comes to unexpectedness. Fortnite is adding iconic hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan, demonstrating how the game can bring in just about anything it can think of.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
