Video gamers who fancy trying a more traditional role-playing experience might want to check out this new Fallout adventure.
The Bethesda game series has a massive fanbase and could be seeing a new title arriving later this year on PS4 and Xbox One.
However, before then, a new Fallout pen-and-paper role-playing experience is being released in 2019.
This will be an official expansion of the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare tabletop series and will offer gamers the chance to try things at a different pace.
Being launched this summer by Modiphius, the new game is designed with one Gamemaster and up to six players in mind.
Fans of the series will be able to explore three campaigns and build their own characters.
It has yet to be given a full title, but the boxart bares a striking similarity with the concept images used for Fallout 4 and the stuff used in the existing Warfare series.
It should also be noted that the book is designed as an expansion for the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare Two Player Starter Box.
However, a complete stand-alone boxed set will be available for Christmas, including cards, dice, and rulebook for those who prefer everything in one package.
“Build your crew from a wide range of factions, allies and iconic characters from the FALLOUT series, or even create your own, and play in apocalyptic roleplaying adventures across the wasteland,” a message from Modiphius explains.
“The Roleplaying Game Expansion will let players take the popular narrative experience of the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare miniatures game even further, by expanding their collection.
“Alternatively, it can be played as a standalone product using free downloadable cards and a set of the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare dice available from all good gaming stores.”
The expansion will include everything you need to get started, while also promising a few features that might interest fans of the video games series:
- Interact with familiar characters and creatures drawn from the world of Fallout.
- Background on the locations and factions that players can encounter.
- Three free adventures in a linked campaign or for use as one-shot missions to support Gamemasters
- Guidance for players to build their settlement as a base of operations
- Advice and tools to help gamemasters create and run exciting new adventures in the Fallout universe.
