The developer of the Elder Scrolls Online announces a major in-person event to mark the game’s upcoming 10th anniversary this April.
The Elder Scrolls Online will hold an in-person event to mark the MMORPG’s upcoming 10th anniversary. Game developer ZeniMax Online Studios has promised a slew of activities for what is setting up to be a memorable experience for fans.
The Elder Scrolls Online was first released on PC and Mac systems in April 2014. While the title was lauded for the amount of freedom it gave players, The Elder Scrolls Online was poorly received due to its unsatisfactory systems and large number of bugs. The rocky start did not stop the title’s developer ZeniMax Online Studios from continuing to work on the game, however, and things have stabilized for The Elder Scrolls Online.

To mark The Elder Scrolls Online‘s upcoming 10th anniversary this April 2024, a massive celebration campaign will take place, ZeniMax Online Studios announced in a December 14 blog post. This will be kicked off with an in-person event that will be held on April 5 and 6 at the SugarFactory, a venue located near ZeniMax Online Studios’ headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The company revealed it will hold its very first in-person The Elder Scrolls Online cosplay competition at the event.
Elder Scrolls Online 10-Year Anniversary Event Details
In addition to the competition, ZeniMax Online Studios promised developer panels, roundtable discussions, and other activities at the April meetup, which the company says it wants to become the biggest in-person community event it has ever held. Tickets for the event are now on sale, with the price for General Admission being 95 euros, or around $104. There’s also an Ultimate Package that goes for 140 euros ($153) and includes all the loot that comes with a General Admission ticket plus additional goodies and benefits. The more expensive package should appeal to any hardcore Elder Scrolls fans.

Those unable to join the April event in the Netherlands will be glad to know that ZeniMax Online Studios will also embark on The Elder Scrolls Online 10th Anniversary World Tour. Local community events will be held in countries like China, Germany, and the U.K. as part of the tour, but details for those have yet to be revealed. ZeniMax Online Studios promised a big in-person event in the U.S. as well, but the company noted that that will take place in 2025. As some fans constantly think of The Elder Scrolls Online‘s shutdown, this could be taken as confirmation that the game will be supported until at least 2025.
When the title’s end ultimately arrives, though, many will undoubtedly be saddened. Whether it’s The Elder Scrolls Online‘s countless hours’ worth of content or the allure of player freedom, something about the MMO has kept its player count healthy. Data provided by ActivePlayer.io showed that nearly 4 million people played The Elder Scrolls Online within the past month alone, and the game is still among Steam’s most popular MMORPGs. With its 10th anniversary approaching, it appears that now more than ever is the perfect time to celebrate such a beloved title.
