Battlefield 6 testing ongoing with player feedback through Battlefield Labs program.
Publisher Electronic Arts has officially reconfirmed that the next Battlefield game will launch by March 2026, and promised a full reveal of the game in Summer 2025. Though it doesn’t have an official title yet, the next Battlefield game is in testing, and is being called Battlefield 6 by fans and commentators.
Despite a number of significant updates and refinements that improved its reputation among players, Battlefield 2042 never quite shook the sense of disappointment players had during the 2021 launch period. As a result, a lot is riding on the success of Battlefield 6. EA has been pulling out the stops in incorporating the community into the development process as well, by running frequent tests via the Battlefield Labs testing program, where players are able to experience new features and give feedback in real time.
Now Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson has officially stated that the next Battlefield game will launch by March 2026. The confirmation comes via Wilson’s remarks made during the Electronic Arts Q4 and Fiscal Year 2025 earnings call, where Wilson called the new game a “pivotal step” in the next generation of entertainment going into the 2026 fiscal year. Wilson also said that EA plans to officially reveal the next Battlefield game publicly in the summer of 2025. Wilson didn’t mention if the planned reveal would be timed for a major game industry affair like the Summer Game Fest 2025, or would be a separate, dedicated event.
Beyond confirming the new Battlefield release window, Wilson didn’t dive deep into details about the game, but did say that Battlefield Labs was the biggest testing initiative in franchise history, and was part of EA’s “player first” approach to building the future of the Battlefield series. He said that DICE would expand Battlefield Labs testing into more regions starting in May 2025, including more players in Europe, North America, and Asia. Reactions to the news of a proper release window for the next Battlefield were generally positive.
