Spore-like, multiplayer PC game where you roam the expansive open world to hunt down stronger creatures to assimilate their parts

Game Geeks News is proud to bring you another great gaming project currently running on Kickstarter. Jason Deaver, a 3D Artist and  Game Developer from Austin, TX has been working with Unreal Engine for about 5 years now, as well as some experience with Unity. He had the idea for Beastking sometime before the pandemic and has been working on it daily as often as he can for the last five months or so and is now looking to further develop the project and bring the game to consoles with the help of this campaign.

The game itself is very loosely based on the creature stage in Spore, where you create an animal from the parts of others you defeat, gaining their essence, which you turn into different aspects of that creature: Head, Body, Tail, Forelimbs, Hindlimbs, Senses, or Special Aspects.  Each aspect of a creature has something unique about it, whether that be an offensive or defensive ability, something more utility-focused like a way to track or hide from enemies, or raw stats like health or attack power.

There are different tiers of creatures in the world, each of which carries strengths and weaknesses, as well as Apex Predators that will require you to cooperate with friends and strangers to take them down and gain their aspects.  Different biomes are home to different types of creatures, and biomes themselves can be dangerous to traverse, so stockpiling items from the world and storing them in your nest can help you adapt and thrive in the overworld.

There will also be a competitive PvP side of the game, where you can engage in 1v1 or team battles inside unique arenas to climb the leaderboards for additional rewards and bragging rights.  All in all, the game should have something for everyone, with a heavy focus on customization and competition, without the irritating RPG aspects like excessive grinding, treadmills, time gates, fetch quests, and ad infinitum.  If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, drop by and pledge now. Their target is to raise just $5000. Here is a breakdown of stretched goals they would like to achieve.

Rewards for backing this project include Alpha build access, 3D creature prints and much more. For a full breakdown of the rewards available, check out their crowdfunding page on Kickstarter.
