Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been treated to some great news this week, as CD Projekt makes a welcome announcement.
Fans looking for new gameplay footage or release date news might want to pay attention to this year’s E3 gaming expo.
That’s according to a recent announcement on the game’s Twitter page, which confirms plans to attend the annual event.
“For those of you asking, yes, we will be at E3 this year,” reads a CD Projekt tweet on the Cyberpunk page.
Cyberpunk 2077 was the star of last year’s E3, earning countless Best in Show awards from critics.
The game made an appearance during Microsoft’s Xbox conference, where a trailer – which has been viewed more than 17 million times – was broadcast to fans.
An extended gameplay demo was also shown to E3 attendees, and would later be posted online.
The news comes after Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red gave fans fresh hope of a 2019 release date.
Responding to questions about the departure of creative director Sebastian Stępień, CD Projekt’s Karolina Gnaś revealed some interesting news about the state of Cyberpunk 2077.
According to Gnaś, more than 400 people are working on Cyberpunk 2077.
As WCCFTech points out, The Witcher 3 only had 250 staff working on the game during its peak.
“His [Stępień] departure does not affect the pace of work on our latest title in any way,” Gnaś said. “The team working on Cyberpunk 2077 already has over 400 people.”
With such a huge number working on the game, there’s every possibility Cyberpunk 2077 will launch sooner rather later.
A 2020 release date seems more likely, especially with a game of this size and scope.
Fingers crossed we find out an exact release date during the game’s E3 appearance in June.
