Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red may have hidden release date plans in a new teaser.

CD Projekt posted a new Cyberpunk 2077 teaser featuring a rifle-wielding Cupid for Valentine’s Day.

“Spotted on February 14th, this bounty hunter is wielding a one-of-a-kind semi-automatic high caliber rifle with a special property of filling holes in people’s hearts,” reads a CD Projekt tweet.

“And he might just be having you in his sight.”

But eagle-eyed fans believe a release date clue may be hidden within the image, which can be seen alongside the original tweet below.

As GameRant points out, the numbers ’69’ and ‘112’ can all be clearly seen within the image.

It’s speculated that the ’69’ could refer to June 9, which is when Microsoft is expected to hold its E3 conference. The ‘112’ could tie in to a possible release date.

The news comes after Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red gave fans fresh hope of a 2019 release date.

Responding to questions about the departure of creative director Sebastian Stępień, CD Projekt’s Karolina Gnaś revealed some interesting news about the state of Cyberpunk 2077.

According to Gnaś, more than 400 people are working on Cyberpunk 2077.

As WCCFTech points out, The Witcher 3 only had 250 staff working on the game during its peak.

“His [Stępień] departure does not affect the pace of work on our latest title in any way,” Gnaś said. “The team working on Cyberpunk 2077 already has over 400 people.”

With such a huge number working on the game, there’s every possibility Cyberpunk 2077 will launch sooner rather later.

A 2020 release date seems more likely, although we should find out for sure during this year’s E3 gaming expo.
