Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Announces Worldwide Reveal Date

0

Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be officially revealed on June 9 following the Xbox June Showcase after earlier hints suggested as much. The next entry in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series marks the longest development time for any Treyarch-led title, giving fans high hopes for the anticipated game.

Just recently, Black Ops 6 released its first teaser, which depicted a group of individuals vandalizing Mount Rushmore with anti-government messages. Since then, the teaser website has been updated to feature images of famous government landmarks from around the world vandalized in a similar fashion, suggesting that Black Ops 6‘s story revolves around some sort of anti-government scenario. While the precise details surrounding the game are still pretty murky, fans won’t have to wait long for a deeper look.

Black Ops 6 will receive a “full reveal” after the Xbox June Showcase concludes. That event begins at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 9, so the CoD reveal will take place sometime after then. Call of Duty usually saves its multiplayer reveal for a new game until later in the year, so this initial showcase might only touch on the story and overall feel of the game, although additional details are always possible. For now, that’s everything known about the reveal event, but fans recently uncovered additional Black Ops 6 details thanks to leaks.

When Will Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Be Revealed

  • Takes place after the Xbox June Showcase concludes
  • Xbox’s Showcase event begins on June 9 at 1 p.m. ET
  • Black Ops 6 reveal will give an “in-depth look at all-new gameplay”

Following the first teaser’s release, Black Ops 6‘s logo was shared by an insider. The logo features the Black Ops series’ trademark font and style, with what appears to be a three-headed Cerberus underneath it. The game is heavily rumored to be set during the Gulf War during the early 1990s, suggesting that Treyarch’s next title won’t make any major changes to Call of Duty‘s recent trend of traditional boots-on-the-ground gameplay.

It’s also rumored that Black Ops 6 is coming to Game Pass on day one, making it the first CoD to release on Microsoft’s subscription service. This development has been suspected ever since Microsoft purchased CoD-owner Activision Blizzard in 2023, and the trend will likely continue with future CoD titles.

There’s probably much more in store for gaming fans at the Xbox June Showcase besides Black Ops 6. Other rumors name Gears of War 6 and State of Decay 3 as potential projects to be shown, but fans will simply have to wait until June 9 to know for sure what Xbox has in store for the future.
