Amouranth, one of the most watched streamers in the world today, talks about her rivalry with banned Twitch streamer Indiefoxx.
Amouranth might be one of the most watched streamers on Twitch, but it wasn’t always that way. At one point, she shared a rivalry with another streamer called Indiefoxx, who received a permanent ban from Twitch, forcing the rising star to look to other platforms to continue her career. Amouranth herself is no stranger to bans, having received several throughout her career, but overall has played it safe and avoided repeat offenses.
In the heyday of the controversial hot tub and ASMR streams, Indiefoxx and Amouranth were seen as competitors, and both received similar bans for violating the Twitch terms of service. Initial bans are typically not permanent, but Twitch tends to take harsh action against streamers who repeatedly break the rules. Indiefoxx was banned permanently mere months following the initial penalty, while Amouranth seems to have kept her nose clean for the most part.
Amouranth has joked about “baiting” Indiefoxx into getting a permanent ban, saying that the first ban prompted her to tone down her content while Indiefoxx continued to push boundaries on Twitch. Indiefoxx later revealed that she had been banned for an apparent wardrobe malfunction and has attempted to appeal the decision with Twitch to no avail. Indiefoxx has since found success on other platforms, albeit abandoning her original tag for the name “JenFoxxUwU.” Amouranth has been critical of Twitch’s ban policies, saying that streamers often had no way of knowing exactly what they did wrong.
Despite being one of the most successful and lucrative streamers on the platform, Amouranth has not been offered a Twitch exclusivity contract. The reason for this, she believes, is because her content is not “brand-friendly,” possibly due to her popular hot tub streams, which may be viewed as somewhat less than family-friendly in some circles. Amouranth has been doing fewer streams in that particular category and appears to be moving towards changing up the kind of content she creates. Appearing on a stream with xQc recently, she spoke about her aspiration to work with or open an animal shelter, so it may be that she will create content related to her dream for the future.
Nevertheless, the popular streamer is still extremely successful. Just recently, Amouranth received a massive donation to the tune of $70,000, as well as some self-defense weapons and a new iPhone. The anonymous fan did not appear to have any other intention than supporting the Twitch content creator, but they did provide her with their personal phone number and a paid-for bodyguarding service.
