Unveiled in June 2023, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is also slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2024. Set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies, Toxic Commando promises to be a co-op first-person shooter featuring a class system and a quirky sense of humor.
Yet another survival horror video game to look forward to this year is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Although originally intended for a late 2022 release, the game’s development faced delays due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, prompting the Kyiv-based studio GSC Game World to relocate its operations to Prague in the Czech Republic.
