Fans of the various Terminator video games might want to mark their calendars for February 29, when some big news is set to be revealed.

Fans of the iconic Terminator franchise might want to mark their calendars for February 29, as game publisher Nacon is getting ready to show off more of its upcoming open-world survival title set in the nightmare future established by the films. Terminator is one of the biggest sci-fi franchises out there, telling the story of an army of time-traveling, murderous robots and the brave humans fighting to stop them from conquering the world. While the sequels following 1991’s seminal Terminator 2: Judgment Day have all been divisive to various degrees, the series has retained its popularity across a variety of mediums.

This includes video games, as there have been countless Terminator tie-in titles across several different genres over the years. These include side-scrolling platform shooters based on the Terminator films, arcade FPS titles that put players behind the sensors of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s infamous T-800, and even crossover appearances in games like Fortnite and Mortal Kombat 11. More recently, Reef Entertainment released Terminator: Resistance, a divisive FPS that garnered a cult fanbase despite lukewarm reviews that criticized the game’s undercooked AI and gameplay mechanics.

Now Terminator gaming fans can look forward to February 29, as RoboCop: Rogue City publisher Nacon is hosting a new Nacon Connect livestream that will feature 30 minutes of new footage for a variety of upcoming projects. This line-up will include GreedFall 2: The Dying WorldTest Drive Unlimited Solar CrownRavenswatchCrown Wars: The Black Prince, and the yet-untitled Terminator game that was announced back in 2022.

Nacon’s Terminator Game Will Put Players In A Robot Apocalypse

This new Terminator video game is currently being developed by Nacon Studio Milan, and will be an open-world survival title set between Judgment Day – which fans know as the nuclear strike that annihilated most of humanity and gave rise to the supercomputer AI Skynet – and the formation of John Connor’s human resistance movement. As Nacon revealed at the time the game was announced, players will take the role of a group of survivors fighting to stay alive against the growing Terminator army. A 2022 teaser trailer featured the iconic T-800 Terminator hunting someone in a warehouse to the sound of Brad Fiedel’s iconic Terminator theme.

This premise sounds like a promising one, and fans will finally get to see more of Nacon’s untitled Terminator video game during the Nacon Direct livestream on February 29. This will likely include the game’s official title, as well as a possible release window to go along with some gameplay footage and more information about what players can expect while living out the early days of the war against the machines that was ominously glimpsed at in the classic Terminator films.
