Recent leaks from Genshin Impact show off the newest explorable area planned to be added to the RPG with the Version 4.4 update.
A recent leak from Genshin Impact is teasing a brand-new area coming to the game as part of the upcoming Version 4.4 update, Liyue’s Qiaoying Village. Alongside the addition of new regions to the massively popular RPG, HoYoverse has often returned to its past regions with new expansions and more places to explore. New areas like Liyue’s Chasm have broadened the game’s past locations, while events often whisk players back to previously explored areas for new story content. The game’s newest update is reportedly set to add even more to one of the game’s largest regions.
The second half of Genshin Impact‘s Fontaine cycle has already seen multiple leaks and teasers about new explorable areas within the game. Liyue’s annual Lantern Rite festivities will reportedly bring a new addition to the China-themed region, while Fontaine is also expected to see more expansions in the future. Genshin Impact‘s Mondstadt region has also been the subject of plenty of rumors about new playable locations, with both a port and the mysterious “Dandelion Sea” teased. Now, Genshin Impact‘s newest leaks are showing off the next addition to Liyue.
A new leak shared to the Genshin Impact leaks subreddit via leaker Miruko shows off the quiet Liyue village planned to be added with Version 4.4. Qiaoying Village is introduced as a quaint town nestled in Liyue’s mountains, showing off the small collection of houses and buildings surrounding a river cutting through its center. The leak showcases farms scattered throughout the village with a tiered arrangement, similar to the farms found in Liyue’s Qinqce Village. The video does not confirm where Qiaoying Village is located on Genshin Impact‘s map, though it is expected to be in the northwestern reaches of Liyue.

The leak of Qiaoying Village comes as Liyue has long been rumored to receive a new expansion to its playable area. Early leaks about Fontaine had suggested the “Chenyu Vale” region of Liyue would be where Genshin Impact players would first enter Fontaine, instead of its eventual Sumeru-adjacent entrance. Qiaoying Village has also been referenced multiple times within Genshin Impact‘s in-game lore, referring to it as a small village near the border of Liyue and Fontaine. Qiaoying Village and Version 4.4 are expected to launch on January 31.
Genshin Impact‘s newest area will be joined by a pair of new characters as well, including one highly-anticipated roster member in Version 4.4. Genshin Impact‘s next update will introduce Xianyun as the long-awaited human form of Liyue adeptus Cloud Retainer, coming as an Anemo Catalyst character. Gaming will also join the game’s roster as a four-star Pyro character, previously leaked as Liyue’s “Lion Dance” boy. New areas and new characters look to have plenty in store for Genshin Impact players in Version 4.4.
