Jet Force Gemini Comes To Switch Online Expansion Pack Next Month

Nintendo has been very active with the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack retro libraries lately. Although it varies which retro library gets updated, Nintendo’s schedule with new additions has reached a point where it is now guaranteed to see at least one retro game added a month.

Nintendo has announced that Jet Force Gemini will be coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack’s Nintendo 64 library in December, though they didn’t give an exact date. You can see the official announcement tweet from Nintendo down below.

Jet Force Gemini launched on Nintendo 64 back in 1999. The game was developed by Rare, which has always resulted in some weirdness for rereleases of the company’s software ever since it was sold to Microsoft back in 2002. The Donkey Kong Country trilogy was in seeming limbo for years over at Nintendo before finally becoming a mainstay in the company’s various online services, but other titles from Rare’s N64-years of output have been mostly missing in action.

The only exception to that has been the rerelease of Banjo-Kazooie. When that came to Switch Online it was something of an event given BK is now a fully owned property of Microsoft. With the impending rerelease of Jet Force Gemini, it would seem that the companies are not quite done with their collaboration. Hopefully, we’ll eventually see the likes of Donkey Kong 64Diddy Kong Racing, and other N64 classics from Rare.

Once we have the release date, we’ll let you all know. In the interim, let us know what you think of Jet Force Gemini making a comeback!
