Fortnite Finally Gets Tutorial On PC And Console

0

Fortnite’s had a tutorial mode since its launch… on mobile. For those on console and PC, you learn by jumping off the bus, watching as someone magically conjures up a city block, and then by getting shot in the head. That changes today, however, as that tutorial mode has finally made its way to PC and console.

The tutorial starts with teaching you how to look around which is pretty important in a game where looking around and shooting enemies is paramount. It then shows you how to jump, crouch, break objects, mantle, loot, equip weapons, shoot targets, reload, heal, shield up, build – which is an optional feature now – and aim down the sights. Once you get through each point, you’ll get a big pop-up saying “tutorial completed”.

With how popular Fortnite is, a tutorial makes perfect sense. There are no doubt many who have heard of this action figure sandbox and its Ariana Grande concerts, now jumping in to give it a try, who’ve never actually played a shooter. This will give them the tools to at least figure out the fundamentals. The Battle Royale mode launched way back in 2017, five years ago, so it’s taken nearly half a decade to implement, but better late than never, eh?

The tutorial also comes with its own little map, keeping you locked in so you can’t wander off and get lost on an island with no objectives and nothing to do. If you fancy trying it out, you can access it by going to the “By Epic” section in Discovery. Players are already racing each other to see who can beat it fastest.

If you’re already a pro-Fortnite player with a few wins under your belt, there are also some new Star Wars skins, bringing Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo to the arena, where they can now duke it out alongside Master Chief, Kratos, and Rick Sanchez.
