It looks like pro footballers are coming to Call of Duty.
A few weeks ago, we found out that Activision Blizzard might be planning to team up FIFA for a football crossover in Modern Warfare 2. The leak, corroborated by Insider Gaming, noted football stars like Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and others would come to the game as operator skins. Since the World Cup gets started later in November and Warzone 2 arrives on November 16, it would be an ideal time to start hyping both the international tournament and the newly-refreshed Warzone.
Now we’re seeing even more evidence that the world of football will invade Modern Warfare 2 soon after the game’s release. As noted by VGC, images of Pogba and Neymar are doing the rounds on social media of the two decked out in military gear. Both are wearing gloves, body armor, ammo packs, elbow pads, and sidearm holsters, and have assault rifles hanging by their sides. Pogba is wearing glasses, while Neymar has a hat and headset along with full-arm sleeves similar to his football jersey.
Neymar is known to be an avid gamer and even showcases his skill at online shooters on Twitch from time to time. He’s also not averse to having his likeness in games, either.

There’s been no official word from Activision about the possibility of a football crossover, but these images are pretty compelling. I’d expect to see advertisements for these skins pop up closer to Warzone 2’s release.
For those looking to get into Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 without having to download over a hundred gigabytes of data, I’ve got bad news for you. Modern Warfare 2’s physical discs are nothing but blanks. Each one contains a code that directs players to download the same 150 GB of data as everyone else, only without the early access perks that folks who ordered the digital edition received. This means those with less-than-stellar internet or even download caps will have to wait.
