We are only a few days away before Persona 5 Royal is released on platforms other than the PlayStation consoles.
Often hailed as one of the best JRPGs out there, Persona 5 Royal will surely attract a lot of new players who never had the privilege of playing it on the PS console. Even so, Persona 5 Royal is a game that is filled with a sea of content, and going in blind can be overwhelming.
Speaking of which, part of the content is Persona fusing. In-game, you will be spending a lot of your time trying to fuse the best Persona with the best moveset. Just so you know, there are a LOT of Personas hidden inside the sea of your soul!
Do not fret though! Today, we will be looking at 7 of the best Personas you can prioritize to fuse that will surely make clearing mobs and bosses way easier!
Let’s begin!
1. Black Frost

Black Frost has been around for most modern Persona games and he has always been a stable pick, especially during the middle parts of the game.
Black Frost’s strongest asset is his ability to deal huge amounts of magical damage with his Bufu spells. Combined with Mind Charge and Ice Amp, you can rack up some huge numbers even in boss battles.
Defensively, Black Frost does not have any weaknesses and resists quite a number of attack typings. As such, you are actually pretty safe from most attacks with Black Frost equipped.
Versatile offensively and defensively, Black Frost is surely a worthy addition to the Phantom Thieves leader’s arsenal.
2. Michael

Although Michael will probably be available to you during the later parts of the game, Michael is very strong on the offensive front.
Capable of dishing out huge chunks of damage both magical and physical, Michael is diverse enough to answer any problem thrown at him. This also means he can safely hit many Shadow’s weaknesses with relative ease.
Offensively, Michael has moves like Megidoloan and Sword Dance which can clear mobs extremely effectively. Against bosses, Michael might not be as useful but when it comes to training up levels against normal enemies, Michael is your Persona.
3. Alilat

Alilat is basically the guardian of all Personas. It is arguably the most defensive Persona in the game that can essentially repel/drain all enemy attacks with her learnset. In other words, this goddess is pretty broken.
If built correctly, the only damage source that she can take damage to is Almighty. That said, she is neutral to it, meaning with her equipped, the enemy will never knock you down unless it is a critical strike.
Essentially, Alilat is a brick wall of a Persona and is mainly used as a damage absorber for the team.
4. Alice

Yes, this creepy yet innocent-looking girl is one of the best Personas out there. For boss battles, Alice is not that great as she mainly deals Curse-type damage which most of them nullify or resist.
That said, Alice’s true strength comes from her ability to flash farm with super ease. Her signature move Die for Me! is a one-hit-ko move that kills anything it hits. This is super broken when it comes to farming and clearing dungeons.
The plan here is usually to have Die for Me!, Mudo Boost and if possible Victory Cry learned. With these three spells, there are very few normal enemies that can even last a single turn!
5. Trumpeter

Trumpeter is another Persona that might not have the beefiest set but has a good range of buffs and debuffs.
His Debilitate ability lowers all the stats of an opponent and is perfect against bosses. When affected by this skill, the opponent tends to hit for way less damage, miss more and even take more damage.
Pair Trumpeter up with a hard-hitting Persona like Helel or Yoshitsune, you will see some absurd number on your screen after a Mind Charged or Power Charged attack!
6. Shiki-Ouji

This is probably the most unexpected Persona on the list. Shiki-Ouji on paper looks pretty bang average and sometimes even underwhelming. However, it being so accessible during the early parts of the game while having a natural resistance to physical attacks is huge.
Besides that, Shiki-Ouji also nullifies Curse and Bless skills meaning you will not be hit by Mudo/Hama skills ever—-a serious run killer for many. Defensively, Shiki-Ouji is the perfect Persona for the early stage.
Slap him with a couple of diverse elemental attacks, they don’t have to be the Dyne variant as being able to knock down your enemies is good enough for an All-Out-Attack.
All in all, we highly recommend players attempt to fuse Shiki-Ouji whenever they can because it can seriously carry you through most parts of the early game.
7. Yoshitsune

Ever since Persona 4, Yoshitsune has been dubbed as the most broken Persona in the game. Well, guess what, he still is in Persona 5 Royal.
Yoshitsune’s signature skill, Hassou Tobi is the best physical spell in the game and can almost annihilate all normal enemies and take off huge boss HP in a single turn. And as the story goes, if you pair it up with Power Charge, you would almost be breaking the game.
Innately, Yoshitsune has no weakness, more so, it even reflects Elec and nullifies Phys attacks. Overall, it is the perfect Persona. Also, if you want to make your Yoshitsune even more consistent, be sure to have Apt Pupil equipped as well because Hassou Tobi often misses.
And that brings an end to our choices of the best Personas you can use in Persona 5 Royal. Now available on other platforms, you can actually play the game on the go using your Nintendo Switch which you can purchase using our Nintendo eShop Gift Cards here!
