An Overwatch 2 player finds a hilarious interaction that can occur between the two characters Kiriko and Wrecking Ball before a match.
An Overwatch 2 player has found a funny dialogue that occurs between Wrecking Ball and Kiriko. Blizzard’s team-based shooter is currently in Season 1, with over 30 characters being available at the moment. This season will include the Halloween event that Overwatch has every year, bringing back Junkenstein’s Revenge.
Many games will have special exchanges between certain characters that can be heard while playing. Oftentimes the voice lines are of a more comical nature, though some of these discussions can give insight into the characters who are talking to each other. This allows developers to provide details on characters without having to stop for full conversations. Overwatch 2 has these types of interactions, with many leading to a chuckle as a round is about to start.
On Reddit, an Overwatch 2 player known as Traxigor posted a short clip with some humorous dialogue between two of the game’s playable heroes right before a match. It starts with the Overwatch character Wrecking Ball declaring to Kiriko that its hamster pilot Hammond has a fear of foxes. Kiriko then asks if it is because he looks so delicious. The robot translates Hammond’s response by saying yes and then follows up with the line, “Damn right I do.” The bit is unexpected but does provide a laugh, especially since it is delivered with the deep voice of the robot.
Redditors are finding the bits of conversation between Wrecking Ball and Kiriko in Overwatch 2 to be funny. One commenter stated that they spat their drink out when they heard the line in-game, while another user said it is one of the best new interactions between characters. A gamer joked by saying it is too bad they will never hear the line as no one ever uses Wrecking Ball. It is nice to hear this sort of dialogue right before an intense match, as it can put players in a lighter mood before they go into battle.
The voice lines between Kiriko and Wrecking Ball that Traxigor found are not the only funny exchange in Overwatch 2. In a video uploaded by Reddit user tristanwiedeman, it was revealed that if players have both Hanzo and Orisa on the same team before a match, they will speak to each other. Orisa will notice that Hanzo is staring at her and will ask if he wants to ride her into battle. The archer then follows with an awkward no, as if he was having the thought and is now trying to deny it. Orisa tells him not to lie, as it is beneath him. The dialogues that both Traxigor and tristanwiedeman posted both show that Blizzard has a sense of humour when it comes to how their characters will interact in-game.
Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
