Destiny 2 – Atlas Skew locations: Where to find Atlas Skews to complete Tracing the Stars I explained • Eurogamer.net

0

Destiny 2’s Atlas Skews are part of the Tracing the Stars I questline, where you’ll be exploring the Dreaming City in search for them.

Debuting in Season of the Lost, this is one of the first quests you can activate and start progressing through during your visits to the Dreaming City. The main objective is to find five Atlas Skews around the map.

This also leads to a secondary quest that you must complete to finish Tracing the Stars I. As a reward for your troubles, you’ll obtain a shiny new hand cannon.

This page explains where to find Atlas Skews and how to complete Tracing the Stars I, including A Hollow Coronation and the reward for it.

How to start Tracing the Stars I in Destiny 2 and quest steps at a glance

To start Tracing the Stars I in Destiny 2, you must complete both the introductory quest for Season of the Lost, as well as Wayfinder’s Voyage I, which is the main seasonal quest.

After completing the first four steps of said quest, Tracing the Stars I will become available right after you pick up the Iota Draconis fusion rifle.

Once you’re back on the Wayfinder’s Compass screen, you will notice the quest there up for grabs.

As such the quest will start. It has a total of four steps, although you will have to complete a side mission in between.

Tracing the Stars I’s quest steps are as follows:

  1. Travel to the H.E.L.M. and speak to Queen Mara Sov
  2. Collect Atlas Skews within the Divalian Mists, Spine of Keres, and Nearby Lost Sectors (5 total)
  3. Connect the recovered Atlas Skews to an Atlas Terminal
  4. Return to the H.E.L.M. and debrief at the Compass.

In case you were wondering, you can find Queen Sara Mov inside the ‘portal’ that is located in the H.E.L.M. – for this, once you’re in the H.E.L.M., head to the right and go downstairs. The portal is at the end of the catwalk behind the two armed NPCs.

Now, let’s find all those Atlas Skews.

Divalian-Rheasilvia Path, Lower Cliffside Atlas Skew location

The first Atlas Skew can be found in Divalian Mists, which is one of the big named areas in the Dreaming City.

Once you teleport there, head northeast to stumble upon a cliffside.

If you aim below, you will notice a couple of ‘platforms’ close to the rocks.

In there you will see a sparrow alongside the Atlas Skew. Grab it and get ready to move on.

Four more to go!

Divalian-Cimmerian Path, Central Cave Atlas Skew location

The second Atlas Skew can be found in Divalian Mists as well, which is one of the big named areas in the Dreaming City.

Once you teleport there, head to the centre of the area. Going east slightly (towards the blue gate that leads to Rheasilvia), you will notice a cave entrance amidst the massive rock.

This is close to the massive yellow structure nearby. If you notice rocks are blocking the way, don’t fret, as the entrance is right next to them to the right side. Head inside the cave and grab the second Atlas Skew.

Three more to go!

Drowned Bay Alcove Atlas Skew location

The third Atlas Skew can be found in the Bay of Drowned Wishes, which is the Lost Sector located right behind the spawn location in Divalian Mists.

This is, in fact, a large area with tonnes of enemies that will most likely get in your way, so thread carefully.

Once outside the entrance, stick close to the wall and start heading to your right. Instead of going all the way to the other side of the area, all you have to do is make a brief stop at the first cave entrance you find.

This is rather close, so it won’t take long. Once you’re done, feel free to complete the Lost Sector for some rewards at the end, or just continue the quest.

Two more to go!

Spine Oracle Orrery Lower Cliffside Atlas Skew location

The fourth Atlas Skew can be found in the Spine of Keres. If you look at the map of the Dreaming City, you will notice a road up north of Divalian Mists – that’s the one you’re going to take.

Once you see the ice passage, traverse through it and onto the other end, where a destroyed road awaits. Jump all the way across and enter the area.

From here, the rest is rather straightforward. You only need to keep heading straight, enter the massive castle, and go all the way upstairs to the throne room.

Once there, keep moving upwards onto the top floor to find the Atlas Skew, which is in between two (space?) benches.

Only one left!

Distant Spine Island Tree Lower Cliffside Atlas Skew location

The fifth Atlas Skew can be found in the Spine of Keres as well. Follow the same path as before and stop right before entering the castle (if you’re following the quest, just exit the castle and go to the bridge.)

Now, this one is a bit tricky. You’re going to head all the way to the other side of the bridge and onto the islands in the vicinity. But this can’t be done without using an item first.

The Tincture of Queensfoil is a consumable found in the Dreaming City as loot.

After use, it will allow you to see secret pathways, which will reveal themselves in full once you’re close enough to them.

There are a couple platforms to traverse to the other side. Once there, all you have to do is start moving across the floating islands.

As you do this, at one point you will notice a long, dark shore on the right side. Keep heading straight until you notice a big tree in one of the islands.

Once in said island, you will find the Atlas Skew right next to the tree. That’s all of them!

Now, there’s only one assignment left to go.

Season of the Lost is here, with new Exotics and the long-awaited arrival of crossplay.

Elsewhere, we’ve seen new Nightfall weapons such as the Uzume RR4, Plug One.1 and Hung Jury SR4.

Other recent new features include transmog and materials Synthstrand, Synthcord and Synthweave, the Splicer Gauntlet and Decrypted Data used to upgrade it.

How to complete A Hollow Coronation in Destiny 2 explained

After finding all five Atlas Skews, you’ll have to start A Hollow Coronation. Don’t fret though, as it’s straightforward enough.

For this, open the Director tab and select the H.E.L.M., where you’ll notice a new marker for the quest.

Just like the beginning of the mission, you will have to go through the portal in the H.E.L.M. and onto the other side.

After exiting the portal, you’ll be inside the Caliburn Gatehouse.

After using the retrieved skews, the mission will be completed.

Now, onto the final step of Tracing the Stars I, alongside your well-deserved reward.

Tracing the Stars I rewards in Destiny 2

Tracing the Stars I grants a specific reward for completing all four steps, including A Hollow Coronation.

In order to redeem it, you only need to complete the last step of the quest, which takes you back to the H.E.L.M. Compass.

Interact with the compass for yet more lore, and after you wrap it up, proceed to redeem the Vulpecula, which is a legendary hand cannon.
