Game Geeks News are proud to bring you another amazing project currently running on kickstarter. Michael DeFranco and Emcee Industries are launching a fantastic new campaign to raise funds for their latest project – Minotaur Catacombs, which is due to go live today.
Minator Catacombs is a race board game where you play both a fearless Hero and a menacing Minotaur. Your own hero must fight their way out of the catacombs while your Minotaur searches to destroy the trespassers. Choose a Fighter, Barbarian, Wizard, Cleric or Archer, each with their own unique stats & skills, to battle your way out of the catacombs full of traps, surprises, and lurking Undead.
Story:
The party starts their descent into the catacombs. A faint light is spotted through a narrow tunnel that opens up into a much larger cavern. The noxious odour of burning sulphur mixed with another foul odour hits you as you enter. The thunderous crash behind you startles the entire party. The billows of debris and dust that spill out of the opening you just came through can only mean one thing – that way out is now buried. Two large locked doors on each side can’t be budged. You turn your attention back to the faint light and you all creep closer. You make out a large table almost to the back wall and as you come closer, your eyes open wide and you stifle a scream.
Laid out upon the table are various body parts, freshly severed, with blood oozing from the clean cuts and the gaping holes. An abnormally large axe sits with its sharp edge buried deep into the table. The scene looks like a macabre butcher’s table from a horrible dream. It is then you hear the deafening roars, which seem to come from all around you. The two doors on the upper end of the cavern both burst open and you expect a charge into the room of inhuman monsters, but the roars still seem further off. Each of you decides to take your chances through the doors in hopes of finding another way out. Tricks, traps and undead denizens lurk in the catacombs before you… The roars grow closer… the Minotaurs are coming back and you must get out now!.
It is every hero for themselves where the goal of the game is to get your hero safely through the door at the end of the catacombs. While you navigate your hero to safety, you also move your ferocious Minotaur, savagely defending the catacombs from the intruders, to attack the other heroes and send them back to the butcher’s table. Hero stats and special abilities will vary depending on the class of heroes.
For 2-5 players, ages 9 and up.

5 Male Hero Figures (1 each Warrior, Barbarian, Wizard, Cleric, Archer – approx 32mm in white)

MINOTAUR CAPTAIN: $5.00 – Add a towering, more armoured Minotaur Captain to your game for an added angle. The first Minotaur to defeat a Hero and send him/her back to the Butcher’s Table replaces their standard Mino with the terrifying Minotaur Captain with added stats. If beaten, the Mino Captain is replaced with a regular Mino and the next Mino to defeat a hero becomes the Captain. Add-on includes special rules for Mino Captain and super Heroes with one Mino Captain miniature approx. 62mm tall moulded in black.
FEMALE HERO COLLECTION: $9.00 – Add female counterparts to your selection of Heroes. Each set includes 5 female figures: 1 each of Warrior, Barbarian, Cleric, Sorceress and Archer. All moulded in white.
FREE ADD-On EXTRA!!! -Include any Add-on and get one FREE figure. Use as either a Fighter or Cleric, this figure is free-for-all orders that include at least one Add-On shown above. Only one free figure per person, moulded in white.
Once funded, the team will establish stretch goals to include more Hero figures and additional Minotaur and Undead designs along with other goodies. Minotaur Catacombs game is fully developed and currently, 100% manufactured in the US. This Kickstarter is helping them manufacture the game for large-scale production under mass-market facilities. Some Add-On items may be hi-res prints or moulded plastic/PVC, depending upon the success of the KS.
The game is Not suitable for children under 8 years old due to small pieces and choking hazard. The delivery timeline also dependent on Kickstarter success and will be fulfilled in backer number order.
Colours of all items and designs are subject to change and some game pieces shown have been painted and 3D renderings are works in progress and all items are supplied unpainted. All models not originally designed are sourced via Thingiverse or Cults3D and are licensed as ‘Creative Commons’ – a complete list of source credit is available upon request and will be provided with each game.
Donations to all sculptors will be made, dependent on Kickstarter success.
